I don't mind going CC tonight and Emery tomorrow if that is the case. Emery was money at home last year, and if he doesn't start tomorrow he wouldn't get any home starts the first month. And there's no excuse to lose to Detroit even with him in, that team isn't very good and the Hawks should be able to bury them off the rush.
Dangerous 2 games and the first b2b. The Hawks can easily overlook Columbus but the BlueJackets have played tough at home, besides being a divisional road game. If the Hawks bring anything less than a solid effort. it may not turn out well. Need to keep the pedal to the metal. Emery needs to have a much better showing. Lets do this.

Crawford is starting tonight. Sassone said he's starting tomorrow too.

If Wayne Gretzky never scored a goal in his NHL career, he still would be the league's all-time leading point scorer #HappyBirthday99

Well, they better be using him back-to-back, otherwise we might as well write off the game Sunday vs. Detroit as a loss.
after sunday, we don't play again until wednesday, so he should be fine. also, q said in an interview today that he's cut back on the # of practices this year - so i don't think playing him back to back is that big a deal.

Hawks among league leaders: Seabrook (1st in blocked shots), Toews (2nd in faceoffs won), Hossa (2nd in goals), Kane (5th in assists).
This will be a very telling game. It has all the elements of a trap game - (1) everything going well with 4-0 start, (2) bottom feeder opponent, (3) big game against most hated rival tomorrow. So it will be very interesting to see if this season's Hawks team is mentally focused enough to be a truly elite team, or if the 4-0 start is more of a tease than an accurate picture of the team.
I almost hope that the BJs score the first goal just to see how the Hawks react - whether they redouble their effort or get back on their heels and let CLB dictate the game.
Keeping my fingers crossed. It would be sweet to welcome the Wings into our building sporting a 5-0 record.
