when he signed the contract he was the #1 goaltender and he knew it.
Price was the undisputed #1 goaltender at the time he signed a 2 year bridge.
All I am saying is that the rumoured offer to Subban is in line with that, so the words "disgusting" and "joke" don't apply.
I am not saying he will or should sign, but he's rumoured to have been offered a competitive contract.
price also knew that he had a sub-par season, and the one before was even worse. pk had two tremendous seasons and he certainly worth more than carey was worth when he signed his second contract. and even then, this offer is lower than what carey got. not to mention salary cap difference.
This stinks since I get the feeling that if he doesn't sign this up coming week, they will move him. The dcore is in need for a Subban and I saw no real proposal that I liked.
Actually he was, Halak was punted and Price assumed the throne.
Montreal saw more in Price than Halak but if Price stumbled again, he'd be in the Steve Mason position. That's why his bridge contract was low, he was coming off of a poor season.
I feel Pk asking for a long term now is doing habs a favor!
He already said he isnt looking for top dollar,or Doughty money,or break the bank...Signing him long term now will be a bigtime bargin few year from now.
Habs brass stop putting new floors on condos, and lock this kid up Long term now.
Can anybody confirm that the Flyers cannot make an offersheet?

Again -- a team trading for Subban could be a desperate team.
Someone needs to tell him the light turned green at the beginning of the month.
Seriously. I like Bergevin, and I'll give him some credit, but he hasn't moved (apparently) on his deal since May. What kind of arse-backwards negotiating is that?
Did he go to the Donald Fehr and Gary Bettman school of negotiating?
I didn't even know that I would hate a GM more than I hated Gauthier and Gainey but if Bergevin is really offering this AND if he trades him? He's on my list.
Sure 5M$ is low but PK has to learn that he isn't bigger than the team. He has some attitude issues to solve and he needs to mature if he wants to reach the next level. He is already a great defenseman but he tends to make some mistakes. Don't get me wrong, the potential is definitely there but he needs to stop acting like he was the second coming of Orr.
You want to be a superstar PK? We want it too.
Prove it and you will get the contract you deserve.
I wouldn't go higher than 2.75M$ per. I might be an idiot like Bergevin is right now... Come on guys!

I don't know how I can continue to be a fan if they consistently employ these stupid strategies which are designed to keep the team down rather than build toward success.
It's like they play Russian Roulette with a bullet in every chamber. Their only desire is to shoot themselves in the face consistently.

They can. Assuming an offer sheet would be at least 5mil, the following teams do not own the 1st, 2nd & 3rd round picks necessary: Kings, Rangers, Ducks, Flames, Blackhawks, Predators, Islanders, Senators, Oilers, Panthers, Wild, Devils, Sharks, Lightning. Some of those teams might be able to reacquire the picks necessary to make the offer.

Oh, not sure about that. The Oilers made an offer to Vanek and then Penner in the same offseason... not sure if this is a new restriction in the new CBA.
