According to my sources (me) Nonis and Murray are in talks. Possible Kessel for Perry trade. Agents getting involved cause they're trying to make it a sign and trade type of deal. Murray can't say no to the Leafs right? IfI were Nonis I'd make them throw in Smith Pelley as well
Would just put Anaheim in the same situation next year.
#leafs contemplating over offer sheeting Ryan O'Reilly.. Their offer would be close to 4.5M per
not a bad move but most likely not true....
To start, here are the compensation ranges:
$1,110,249 or below - No Compensation
Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 - 3rd round pick
Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 - 2nd round pick
Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 - 1st round pick, 3rd
Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 - 1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd
Over $6,728,781 To $8,410,976 - Two 1st Round Picks, 2nd, 3rd
Over $8,410,976 - Four 1st Round Picks
i would give up a 1st + 3rd for ROR in a heartbeat!
*Leafs player "A" has breakout year*
Leafs fans: "Quick, trade him for high-end prospect "B"!"
*traded for high-end prospect "B"*
*prospect "B" develops*
*prospect "B" makes the Leafs, turns into Leafs player "B"*
*Leafs player "B" has breakout year*
Leafs fans: "Quick, trade him for high-end prospect "C"!"
Rinse and repeat.
Why can't we just hold onto our nice things instead of constantly thinking the grass is greener?
There is little doubt that Kadri and Frattin have been solid producers for the Leafs this season but one has to wonder howl one things will last for these two. I don't see Kadri as anything more than a skilled 3rd line center (alla Lars Eller) and Frattin's ceilling isn't any higher than that of a 4th line scrub with a bit of a shot. Don't you think trading them while their hot is a great idea considering that they both probably won't sustain this level of play. "Come get'm while their hot!"
