That is literally one of the most insane things I've read on this board....and we're talking about a Leafs fan board here.

Near the deadline (when the Leafs are most likely out of it):

1. Loktionov + Bernier for Gunnarson + CMac.

2. Grabo for the best package of picks/prospect we can get.

3. Bozak to Chicago or Vancouver for a 2nd. Unless he reinks for 2.75 or less.

4. Steckel for a late round pick to whoever.

Columbus or NYI make extremely good trading partners for Phil Kessel.

Phaneuf for ROR +
Bozak for Vancouver's 1st (I think that's a pretty fair trade)
Gunnarsson for Bernier

+/- might apply on each trade.

I just don't like Dion very much.

I don't know. If he was our #2 and not our captain, I wouldn't have a problem, likely.

Bozak would net a 1st rounder from anybody seriously interested in him at the deadline. And if we can resign him under $3M and the pick wasn't looking likely to be top 20, I'd be very wary of moving him.

Doubtful, considering there is a slim chance that Phil would re-sign with either team.

I think, if we're dealing Kessel, the Wild make the most sense.

If they're looking good, they might want Kessel for a chance to win it all.

Kessel + for Granlund, Dumba, and Coyle

Steal their prospects!

Draft Monahan.

That's nasty prospect depth.

Kadri, Monahan, Granlund, and Coyle all down the middle.

Gardiner, Rielly, Dumba, Finn, Percy, Blacker on the back end.

SWOON.

**** Dumba and Coyle.

Granlund + Brodin and it's done.

I've never seen Brodin play. What type of defenseman is he? Projection?

Prospects for Phil seems like something that Minnesotta would definitely consider.

I agree though; not too high on Dumba. At all.

A cerebral quick skating Dman, with pretty good offensive skills.

Can log long minutes and be relied on offensively as well.

Basically has all the attributes to be a #1 guy long term.

Reminds me of OEL so much.

What's his defensive game like?

Skating generally bodes well for defensive game.

But would Minni consider Granlund + Brodin for Phil?

I think Phil's definitely thinking of going to the Wild once his contract is up. Hometown, good team...

It all depends if they want to go ham on trying to win the cup now, I suppose.

Is Brown better at what he does then Janssen? Who was just waived by the devils? Offensively, Brown doesn't offer THAT much more then Janssen, historically.

Phil is from Wisconsin, not Minnesota.

I doubt they'd move both. Maybe Brodin+Coyle+ maybe a pick?

Not sure how i'd feel about that. Doesn't excite me too much. If we move Kessel I really want to address #1 C hole.

We're not trading Phil to Minnesota. We're not trading Phil for prospects. It's a lateral move. And it's stupid.

No they won't haha, and I wouldn't either. Oh well, we could dream. I don't even like Grandlund that much tbh. I think Brodin is their best prospect, but Grandlund is still second.

Brodin has a pretty solid D game, really reliable. He looked great so far for the Wild. Got 2 assists in 3 games and rang one of the post when I was watching the game.

He's been getting pretty good minutes as well (probably 20-22ish mins maybe?).
He's only 19 and he would be on our top pairing right now lol ...

If we're trading Kessel I more than one top prospect.

Why are we moving Kessel?

One more bad finish gets us the #1C we need to move forward and actually contend.

So we get value for him and then he resigns with us as an UFA
