So I'm not sure you really save money unless at 18/19 a player can really contributed. I'd think a 500k to $1 million veteran would be a better player straight up compared to most young kids.
If I had to make a complete shot in the dark, Gauthier. Laughton made it and nobody would have predicted that this time last year. Granted he did just get sent down.
I think there are quite a few that will be close to making the jump. Guys like MacKinnon and Jones are pretty much a lock for me to be in the NHL next year.
Guys like Barkov, Ristolainen and maybe even guys like Lazar and Shinkaruk will get looks, depending on which teams they end up with.
Ryan Pulock is another guy that could be kept up, depending on the situation he's placed in.
Ristolainen won't be NHL-ready i'm pretty sure about it. If you include MacKinnon as lock you should include Barkov too. Both are close to lock IMO.
Elias Lindholm is physically close being NHL-ready but i don't think that is it best for his developement to jump right away to NHL. 1 or 2 year as Brynäs #1 C will be good for him getting more confidence and maybe being dominant.
Barkov is NHL ready as in he could jump right in and be able to compete at the NHL level, but it would not be the best for his development as there are some attributes he still needs to improve on (especially skating).
no I really didnt. He couldnt even perform against kids 1 year older than him. Sending him to the NHL right now would be his death.....CHL....bahh humbug

Or 2 years older, or even 2.5 years older... In any event, MacKinnon will be ready for the NHL next season, no question about it.
In that case he'll have alot of work in front of him if hes going to face old vets that are 15 years older than him. Hes so tiny
He was on a fourth line and didn't play much, clearly here someone watched the world junior . Mackinnon is a lock for the NHL next season stop pretending you know him you probably couldn't even name his QMJHL team without going to hockeydb.

Why are you getting so butthurt b/c I dont share your (overrated) opinion regarding MacKinnon?

He was also asked to paly more a grinder role and played less than 5 minutes per game while not playing on the PP. That is why he couldn't perform he is a center and because of the lockout team Canada was the team with the most depth at center. What did you expect? Him to take the #1 center role away from RNH.
When in the WJC? So you're saying he won't be NHL ready because you've seen him play on a 4th line. Too much of a small sample size to say he's not NHL ready. His skating really makes him NHL ready, I'm not saying he'll dominate but he will play in the NHL right off the bat.
