It really is a self-fulfilling prophecy though. Tippett feels his job is in danger -----> makes poor coaching decisions. Crawford feels his job is in jeopardy ------> makes even worse coaching decisions. And now we see it rear its ugly head again with Gulutzan. The more coaches struggle against the riptide to save their skins, the more it drags them under...
You're right, that would have to come from Gaglardi, though he did give Nieuwy a vote of confidence, sort of, when he took the team over and basically said he wasn't going to outright fire him. Although I doubt it holds any merit now.

Eh.
I'm pretty much totally on board at this point.
I don't like the choice to play Kari one bit.
We give him a lot of hate for not giving the younger guys a shot despite their play, ect., and it would be a lot more understandable if his choosing to do so were producing results.
But it isn't.
Some players share the blame as well, but the team is in a very dangerous hole here early in the season in large part thanks to what I would assume were his decisions.

Started this tonight. Pass it on. If anyone wants to help me expand the description have at it. I think I'll start sharing things like ice time for prospects and who gets scratched and all of that sort of thing...

Or maybe he knows that just one or two mistakes (exhibit A being Jordie Benn) can ruin a game for you, and he's therefore hesitant to play them in fear of losing.

Morrow's the captain, and he's already has his ice-time reduced. For as bad as we think Robidas has been, simply dropping him isn't in the cards (that's not Gully's decision). Scratching him isn't either, as again, what exactly has he done wrong besides look bad to several fans?

The only thing I still have a problem with is the PP, for obvious reasons.

Maybe if they interview the 1st star of the game again, like they did Ribeiro last season, they'll call out the fans again.

Benn isn't a prospect. At best he's a project. They're not developing a 25 year old player but they theoretically are trying to develop Larsen, Dillon, and the other guys down in Austin. Jordie Benn exists in some murky gray area but it shouldn't be an area that gives him a free pass due to his last name.

Why is Dillon considered a prospect when Benn isn't? Both went undrafted, both make rookie mistakes in the NHL but do well in the AHL.

**** it. I'm on the bandwagon too. How can he not fix the breakout still? It has sucked since Crawford took over and hasn't gotten any better. That and being on the PK for 16 minutes a night doesn't help.

If we were talking Morin I might agree, but Benn isn't too old to make the NHL.

Because Benn is probably done developing, and probably wouldn't even be in the AHL if it weren't for Jamie.

Is Jamie going to hold us hostage over Jordie? I sure hope not.

Dillon has proven that there's a lot of potential there. I know people don't like to watch defensive defenseman, but if you watch him play he really does do a lot of things right.

He makes a great first pass and so does Benn, but Dillon also doesn't get muscled off the puck, and he's able pinch at the right times. Which is great when he can also hold down the slot.

I doubt both of those ideas. He may not have made it to the Texas Stars but he could have still found a way to the AHL, much like Dillon did.

I think Glen needs to step up. He's perfectly capable of getting these guys to be a team.

Someone needs to. Dillon stepped up tonight, and I think that shows to his potential. Glen needs to get rationally mad. Put his foot down, and if he doesn't do that in the next week, yes, fire his ass and bring in someone who will stand up for his team while ensuring that they're ready for the game each night.

(In another bizarro world, Morrow did good-ish things tonight in his limited ice time but still hasn't shown he can do it game in game out again)
