To be fair, the players he listed have more value than the ones you just listed.

Simmonds
Voracek
Read

Those three alone have substantially more value than the names on your list.

I would hate to deal him AND Murphy, but I might consider it - NOT with the 1st rounder, though. A package of Murphy, McBain and Boychuk is pretty hefty, imo..
The package either needs to start with J Staal or Skinner or it's a no go from the get-go.

A lot of Hab fans faithfully watch the WJHC and Murphy has two big strikes against him before he has even played a game at the NHL level. Please take him out of any proposal unless you want Kaberle back.

That is true, but the point is still the same. None of the guys you mentioned are worth giving up Subban. Especially since you said we couldnt have any 1st rounders.

Well from watching him play over 40 games in the AHL/NHL yeah he looked solid, how can you say he isn't i'd like to hear your reasoning.

You are talking like you yourself are a gm, and that we (habs posters) are also Gm's.

Considering Florida's depth down the middle after Weiss, this is an automatic no. They need Huberdeau a lot more than they need Subban (and I'm not sold on Eller being a top-6 centerman, he lacks the offensive skill and consistency needed to carry a 2nd line).

Montreal only has $5,898,637 worth of cap space http://capgeek.com/canadiens

Who's to say a team like Detroit sitting at $7,458,750 cap space doesn't free up another 600K to get to 8 million and O/S Subban for 1 year @ 8 million? Give up 4 first round picks but still have his RFA rights and work out a deal with Subban prior to this 1 year deal.

And before we get into that "no team should offer sheet another player" nonsense - Burke no longer has a GM job so it's time to play cutthroat with these other teams and GMs.

Ahhhh didn't take the prorate into consideration. Wanted to see if some team would have the stones to offer sheet and put another team into a tight spot.

It would have to a 7 year deal over 6.5 million for MTL to not match I would think. I highly doubt any GM would do that though, in fact I'd be shocked and angry at the same time!

ps, love the Marlo avy. The Wire is top dawg

Voracek

any other picks?

Voracek, Laughton, Akeson, couple 2nds/3rds

Subban

No thanks. Just Couturier . Subban would have helped you against the lighting last nite. He's good at logging big minutes against the other teams best players.

That kind of deal give montreal:
1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd

With the new CBA I think. (http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/20...e-offer-sheets)

Except the case of a top 4 first round pick, I think, yeah, would be **** and had prefered to kept Subban.

This is a true Red Wings fan fantasy move. Nothing of quality off the playing roster but plenty of prospects.
