Chief Illiniwek didn't hurt anybody. He wasn't blatantly racist like WW2-era-cartoons.

You look historically at what was racist back then, and Chief Illiniwek is so tame by nature. It's so stupid that he's gone. It's so stupid that the St. John's Red Storm were forced to change their name.

I did some more research on him after I made that post. At his last "official" appearance at Assembly Hall, he was given a standing ovation. The student playing him later came back out to another ovation, it was a moving moment. He really was a mascot that was canned because of political correctness. It's sad.

Not a Bayern fan, I am a Liverpool fan. Just out of the remaining teams would like to see them win. Wouldnt mind seeing any of the german teams win too. Same goes with Porto.
