Theo got that NTC for security to stay the #1 in Florida, knowing the goaltender situation there. If Luongo goes to Florida, Theodore's status as the #1 is done. I brought up the word d0uche because he has been like that before(not regarding NTC).

Must be something in the water out there in BC. I'm sure the Wild reject this in a millisecond.

Sounds like he's coming to Edmonton to me. Can't see him going to any other team in the conference except maybe the Wild but they have Backstrom.

How does the one-time buyout work? Why can't NYI use it on Rick this summer?
They could it just depends on whether Wang is prepared to lose 10s of millions over the remainder of the contract. Wang is still paying for Yashin's buyout so he might do if he had to but it's not something he'd want to do if he could find another sucker. A team like Philly would probably pull the trigger themselves, it's a little harder for the bottom end guys.

The way Luongo is playing tonight, I'd rather keep him and his cap friendly contract and trade Schneider for a better package to be honest.

Huge saves against the Kings so far

This is what Luongo brings, he can literally keep your team in it and steal games

Congrats

You can read. Mommy must be so proud. Did I not just say this?

And yes, his contract is indeed cap friendly. 5.3m hit for a goalie of this caliber? I'll take it any day of the week.

Ballard was playing well for longer than that, ie the last 6 months of 11-12. 10-11 was write off but was fine after a slow start to 11-12.

I agree. He was actually pretty consistent & solid late last year too as you say, he has just be making a bigger impact since the playoffs.

Wang is going to lose millions on that contract regardless. Only choice is he wants to upgrade at the goalie position.

Wishes this will not make it come true. We cant pawn Luongo off on the Islanders. If you have any information to the contrary , please source it.

The goal support (incl. shootout) Luongo gets is laughable. He'll make his new team very happy.

It's weird eh? Are they playing more defensive when he's in net or what?

While they didn't score a ton last night, they had 5 posts and in ANA where scoring no problem - both with Cory in net...

If Gillis trades him to Edmonton he should be fired.

If Hemsky or Gagner are involved, at least we'll have someone who can actually do something in the shootout...

Depends on the return, I could see Tambo sending Hemsky to Van for Luongo. Van needs a top 6 RW and Edmonton needs a Goaltender(Not discounting Dubnyks performance tonight but I still have no confidence in the guy.) I doubt that the Canucks get a better player then Hemsky for Luongo, which means Gillis is taking the best deal on the table.
