Lol...Reimer has been very good tonight, check your boxscores, we are being outshot by a mile.

He actually has. 2 of those goals against him were wicked deflections. I thought he gave the team a chance.

I am. Reimer's been decent, but he hasn't played great either. It seems worse for Florida, obviously, letting in 6 goals(not watching that game though), but overall the market for goaltending is greater now than it was at the start of the season, imo.

I think he played well until he got rattled, then the gates opened. Need experience to work through that.

James Reimer cannot be faulted tonight. With the amount of shots against him and the sheer amount of quality chances, I thought he gave the Leafs a chance to take the W tonight.

Anyone who says otherwise is simply stat watching.

I really think you aren't watching the game. Reimer has stood tall this game and stopped a number of great opportunities throughout the game. He played great.

directed towards leafs fans mainly:

i actually thought Reimer played well tonight and think that the leafs may have more pressing issues elsewhere besides goaltending that should be addressed before Luongo

Thoughts?

Telling me I'm not watching the game isn't exactly going to change my mind. He wasn't bad at all, but he wasn't great either.

Gee last night Vancouver had 2 more shots than Anaheim, but won 5 to 0. Shot totals can mean nothing. The night McCammon was fired by the Canucks the team had 50 shots, but lost.

He just cannot steal a game though. He played well but not great when it counted.

Saying James Reimer has been just decent tonight is enough in my mind to know that you're just checking the box scores and it's useless to argue otherwise. Context is what matters my friend, and you apparent haven't gotten it.

42-17 shots, faced "the big line" for what seemed like 45 minutes....the 3rd goal was an insane tip in, the 4th he couldn't see through Boyle's azz....but ya....rattled.

Reimer played well tonight. Hard to give your team a chance to win when they seem disinterested in winning. However I don't think Reimer's play thus far has had any bearing on whether or not Nonis makes a deal.

I frankly don't care what goes on in your mind when it contradicts the signals my optic nerves have relayed to my brain while watching the game. I'll make a comparison to the Buffalo-Carolina game, where Miller played great, but lost regardless. Reimer played well, but not great. I can't help you if you seemly choose to invent reasons as to why I am less credible than anyone else on this forum.

Agreed...it's the skyhigh price that will stop him from doing it.

Agreed. At least now it doesn't. If he manages to play very well for 35 games this year, then Leafs fans could point to James Reimer's play as a logical reason for not putting a solid package together for Roberto.

Leafs need Luongo if they want any shot at the Playoffs.

Be honest, if you actually watched, tell me which of the 4 goals he was to blame. I'll help you out, 2 were great tips and 1 Boyle was literally on top of him.

Roberto wouldn't have made much a difference tonight and that's what Leafs fans should expect against good teams in the NHL. They aren't making the playoffs even with Roberto.

Well put.

The fact of the matter is that James Reimer played well enough to give the Leafs a chance to win, which is all you can ask of your goalie. He didn't give up back-breaking softies that killed momentum. The Rangers just took the game to the Leafs from the drop of the puck.

If you don't want Luongo fair enough, but why are Leaf fans in here so defensive tonight? Just ignore this thread. No point to argue why or why not Luongo will help you make the playoffs.
