The Hawks weren't hustling hardly at all tonight. I don't think it was so much as being tired but more so saving energy for tomorrows game. The Hawks will probably come out flying tomorrow night.
Hawks should abuse the defense of Detroit tomorrow. This was a more physical game than what we' see tomorrow tonight. Craw had some good stops. I'm pleased.
Concerns? Last D pairing and can CC hold up well enough to win a cup?
As of today CC has played well...any points with Emery in net are bonus points. Is it really that hard to find a better back up?
But 5-0-0 can't be over looked, we've all counted points these last 2 years as we begged to squeak in to the dance...every point we get now up front will be one's we don't have to worry about later.
We're going to need a better effort tomorrow if we're going to beat Detroit. I wasn't impressed by our play tonight but we squeaked one out. I'd like to see them just pick apart the Wings defense tomorrow.
Detroit had a bunch of injuries the first few games. The got Helm and Bertuzzi back which makes them much better - Helm is the ultimate energy player and he amps up the whole team and Bertuzzi gives them toughness and greasy goals. The Wings aren't as good as a few years ago but they're better than they've shown the first few games. It will be a tough game tomorrow.
Also I never thought I'd say this, but Stalberg is being dragged down badly by his linemates. The guy is really standing out on that line and Shaw and Bickell both seem too slow and/or incompetent to keep up with Stalberg and capitalize. I think all that time on a line with Toews really did wonders for his play.

Hawks are keeping Stalberg on the third line so that it will be easier to negotiate a contract. If he has a big year of say 30 points (pro-rated 51 for a full 82 game season) he's gonna ask for a contract with money the Hawks probably can't afford right now. I really want him re-signed though. I hope the Hawks are working something out with a cap hit under 3 with a bit of term (say 4 years).
I think bickell has played pretty well and made some nice plays tonight.
Shaw on the other hand has looked horrible, though less horrible the past 2 games.
I still can't figure out why shaw is getting PP time, should give Saad a shot there to see if they can get him going offensively, not like shaw is doing anything novel.

play more like this Craw and play at this level all the time. Then you will be seen as a #1. Mason looked good, I'd take him as Backup
Hjalmarsson with a good game again, Toews with a good goal and Kane showed up again. Bolly took 2 STUPID penalties, he can't do that again. Just hope they played as bad as they did because they knew we would win against Columbus.
Shaw still doesn't look like he belongs.

Seems pretty obvious, actually.
been saying this since after the Blues game.
Stalberg is lost without more help and it looks like Mayers/Bollig hold down Frolik & Krüger a bit. Mayers made a nice pass to Frolik, I give him that.
