Honestly, the whole team's effort was poor at best. There were a couple of spurts during the game when a player put in a good individual effort such as for our two goals and Reimer was pretty good despite the score. Apart from that it felt like the Leafs as a team were uninterested in playing last night.
1st. line did not show up at all, and the 3rd. line was overmatched.
Got that backwards, I think. The first line was overmatched, and the 3rd line didn't show up.

With the current lineup, the Grabo line has more skill on average than the Kessel line. Mac/Komarov bring virtually nothing to the line. The Kessel line still draws the toughest defensive matchups, though.
We would be allowing this many goals with Luongo. Reimer and Scrivens have had maybe two bad periods in the 5 games played so far. This team needs some patience from fans. Wake up.
Reimer had a great game..i don't think that's deniable.
So it's ok to like Reimer today? I'm having a hard time keeping up with which players should stay and which need to be shipped out as it seems to change after each game.
He looked ok, but he's a 6th or 7th defenceman on the team at best. If he used his size more he would be much more effective, but I'm not sure he has the mobility to play that style. He seems to be a poor mans Hal Gill, survives based on reach and positioning. I'd like to see him as an intimidating force in front of the net, making other teams afraid to stand in front of the net, but this may be wishful thinking at this point.

Why don't we give all the players 15 to 20 games before we make any conclusions. There wasn't really a training camp, and the players from the Marlies need time to prove they are NHL level.
Apparently Lundqvist thought our first two goals were “miracles”. I know we sucked last night, but he sucked too. He got soundly outplayed by Reimer. That being said, the Rangers clearly deserved to win last night, despite Henrik.

Did he seriously say that? That's garbage, pretty insulting. Those goals were far from miracles, both were the result of good work down low. Lundqvist is one of the best goalies in the league, don't get me wrong, but the guy doens't have a stanley cup ring, and needs to shut his mouth.

"We played great. It was a miracle they were up 2-0 after that (first) period," Lundqvist said. "It was definitely frustrating to sit in here. The feeling is even better now knowing that we stayed patient and made good decisions even though we were behind.
"Everybody who watched the game thought we should be up two goals, at least, but that was not the case."
That's a pretty bold (and uncalled for) thing to say, especially considering that he was the reason they were in the 2-0 hole in the first place, and, as you said, he hasn't won a damn thing yet.

Those two goals were quite pretty. It would have been amazing for any goalie to have stopped them. Lundqvist plays behind a very good defensive system which limits scoring opportunities, so judging his game can be difficult. Based on this one game, it would be hard to see who is the superstar goalie and who is the B-level guy.
