It's disheartening to think about considering that we used to have guys like Domi, Corson, Tucker, Roberts who teams wouldn't dare cross, or those great Burns era teams where we had more than enough muscle to keep opponents honest and respectful.

Not sure I see the point of the long-winded post, a simple: "I agree" would have done just fine.

Isn't that against the Board's rules:

It's how you lose that's endemic of what our problems are.

Gotta ask is that the totem pole by Fern avenue or something? In your avatar that is o.o

That's a pretty bold (and uncalled for) thing to say, especially considering that he was the reason they were in the 2-0 hole in the first place, and, as you said, he hasn't won a damn thing yet.
You think he's worried about the Leafs seeking payback?

Reimer was actually great last night, so no issues there. People can blame Dion, but he has no support whatsoever. Guy has to play 30 minutes a game because the rest of the D is AHL-calibre. I kind of wonder if Carlyle was told to tank lol.

Also, I am not remotely surprised we lost to the Rangers. I was more pissed about the loss against the Islanders.

Kadri was getting out muscled all the time during this game. Every time he touched the puck he was easily pushed off it and would fall over

They outshot the Leafs 14-3 in the period, it was a miracle it was 2-0. Would you prefer every player just say what you'd call them to?

He's won Olympic gold and a Vezina. He's been the most consistent goalie of his generation, what else would you like from him?

I don't know how to start.

You're right that a non-last team has more of a chance to win the lottery (75%).

But the last place team has the best odds of any team (25%).

Did you really write that the Leafs should not finish last to get a better chance to win the lottery?

I'm just saying, he could have chosen to exhibit a little thing called class, but he obviously decided otherwise. Besides, my main point was that it was pretty funny that he was complaining about being down 2-0 when that deficit was largely his fault.

Those trophies/awards are great, and very prestegious. I'm not saying he's not a great goalie, because he is. But until he wins the one trophy that all players grow up dreaming about hoisting over their heads, he needs to show a little more humility.

To be fair, as a Swede he probably dreamt of an Olympic/WC Gold, which he won.

Class? I would prefer honesty to class from athletes, something to consider.

Then he was unlucky that he wasn't on for either of the Leafs goals.

Liles (x2), Gunnarson, Fraser...

I've said that since Carlyle got here. This was a run and gun team, you just can't say we're a defensive team now because that is Carlyle's system. The ammo has to fit the gun.

By the way, it's not true that Carlyle is second for post-season wins after Babcock sine the previous lock-out.

Look up Quenneville and Laviolette. And he's tied with Julien.

And there might be a few more in the next few years unless he finds another job.

You probably meant coaches with English-sounding names.

In almost everything there is risk to be taken. After the leafs scored the two goals they didn't want to take any risk. They also look like they are playing scared.

Where do you get that he said that the goals were miracles.

All he said is that the Rangers outplayed the Leafs in the first.

In fact, he probably was self-deprecating...
