Blow it up.

And no, this isn't just a 5 game reaction. It's a 3 year slow and painful realization.
That's the best part: how many people say "relax it's 5 games in". Pretty sure it's a bunch of years in with this current group...

Still don't understand why every coach feels it's a good idea to play Phaneuf 30 effing minutes a game.

Like, no wonder he's -8, he's on every other shift!

Give the guy a break, and let the rest of the defensemen see some playing time. Playing Phaneuf so much isn't good for anyone. Phaneuf starts getting tired, especially in a short season, and then makes bad plays that he normally wouldn't... just frustrating to watch.

The Buffalo Bills would like to have a word with you regarding who's the laughing stock in pro sports.

Didn't Calgary finish 9th last season? Correct me if I'm mistaken please. Anyways, Calgary is a far Bette team than Toronto.

actually this is true. this was a game that we could have won, and the Isles game was one we should have one, because we are playing Buffalo and it's like... murder for us to win there.

and i think if you pick away at some of the whining posts, you'll see some legitimate complaints. the leafs stopped. playing. end of story.

I guess us Phagoof "haters" are blind and no nothing. -8 and hit so many pieces of glass we almost had seven more years of bad luck.

Kostka played fine and so did Fraser and even dare i say Komisarek. Are Captain was where?

I still haven't heard a legitimate reason for him deserving 25 minutes a game. He's got 1 assist in 6 games, the PP has been terrible and he's a -7. Considering how bad the team has played outside of the win against Pittsburgh, those numbers and observations suggest that something's wrong with him playing 25 minutes.

In the end, the only argument you have is "Carlyle knows something we don't". Well, **** that. We're looking terrible and we're losing games. Whatever Carlyle supposedly knows, the results seem to be suggesting that he's actually wholly wrong about it.

How can anybody take anything any of you say seriously? Tonight you think the team is garbage. Our next win you're gonna think we're on the path to the playoffs. The truth is a lot of you don't know what the **** you're talking about.

10% of the season gone, not that it's the same in a lockout shortened season, but there's still lots of time to make some adjustments. Like breaking up the Phaneuf and Kostka pairing and/or playing them less minutes then over half the game.

+1 First time Komi's has been mentioned all night. What on earth has he got to do with this gong show?

Not really. If Calgary played in the East they would easily make the playoffs every year. They got a great goalie and some actual talent on the ice.

Yup everyones a cup favorite in the East this year.

Every Goalie is gonna stand on their head.

Every game we'll be tired from the condensed schedule.

Every game you and the rest of Leaf Homers will come up with another excuse why this team cannot find a way to win.

As soon as Gardiner is back I want Fraser/Kostka demoted to the Marlies or Kostka the 7th D-man.

Phaneuf-Gunnar

Liles-Gardiner

Komisarek-Franson

Y'all are making me feel so old. I was in my first year of university. I've now got two degrees, a teaching certificate, taught in Korea for a year, got another diploma and now am WORKING....

I am really starting to realize just how bad the Kessel trade was. Brian Burke was absolutely bent over on that deal...what a farce.

What an absolute joke of a team. Let's face it folks, we are heading for a bottom 10 pick - however, we are likely good enough to keep it near 8th or 7th, just outside of the impact centres.

Trade Kessel.

Send Kostka down.

I don't understand people when they say we lost to a better team, that doesn't matter when you have a 2 goal lead people expect you to hold it to some extent, what we saw was Reimer playing solid while his defense play like a bunch of idiots, we always say how loaded we are in Defensemen, yet when I look at it I see half of them playing like **** every game. Also Kessel needs to wake up, either he starts producing or Carlyle should start benching him.

Agreed. Their 09-10 and 10-11 teams would've been playoff teams in the East.
