2-3 solid games, a few good hits, some goals and everything will soon be forgotten. As for teammates... These guys just went 10 rounds against the owners to get better salaries. I really don't think they'll be mad at Subban.
I don't think the Fans are going to be an issue. Most don't seem to care and just want this resolved because everybody knows he's a great player.
For the teammates, if they're bitter, then they're idiots. But as you said, they should all understand PK's situation, especially after what they all went through.
However, I think the problem is with management. We don't know PK. He might be the type to hold a grudge. So, plays his heart out, and then asks top top dollars until he reaches UFA status. This time around, they have less leverage, arbitration will be available to him, and they'll get screwed on it.
Subban asks for trade, MB accepts to sign Subban close what he was asking, and then trades him. OMG!
And if Subban refuses to sign that contract because he wanted to be a Canadien but Bergevin was a douchenozzle? Why would he help out the organization that alienated him?
If you put yourself in a weakened position do not expect full value.
If you want too see some one without his shirt google guy lafleur by his yact? The guy is 61 yrs old.I thought all the wine and cigarets are bad for you.lAFLEUR HAS A BODY OF A 30 YRS OLD.And I'm not into looking at men but Lafleur at 61 come on
You don't have any problem with Prust and his 0.2 PPG asking for, and receiving, 100%+ of his worth, but you expect Subban to sign for 50% of his worth, to help pay for Prust?
"Southern"? I'd say so.
Since you posted a snarky response, I can do so in kind.
You are one of those that didnt mind our players become the *****es for teams like the Bruins, Sabres, Leafs, or any other NHL team that took liberties with our players.
A true Gauthier pacifist believer.
Did you not see the last game where Prust beat the hell out of Hendricks for taking a run at Boullion?
Prust is not going to be the leading goal scorer. Not at all. He can play solid hockey, plays on the PK and is allowing our two young future superstars to develop without worrying about face rubs and cheap actions after the whistles.
Prust plays a role and is doing very well in his role and is worth every penny of his contract.
But again, Gauthier was your idol. Give peace a chance.
I'm just wondering why some people here are assuming that PK is a little princess and, even if he signs a contract, he will now have his fragile feelings hurt irreparably and he will allow deep resentment to set in. Is he not stronger in character than that?

That's the body of a 30yo for you??? I'll be 30 in July, if I had this body I would be in a major depression.
I'm not disagreeing with you on the poor evaluation MB seems to have, or his stupidity.
But the first part of my sentence was why I think not one would offer anything cheap.
If I'm a GM, and PK is on the trade market, I know every other GM will inquire about him, and many will put in offers, so I'm going to make a respectable offer right from the start.
But, people can start at that price, I seriously doubt it goes that way.
I'd be curious to know where Dudley stands on this issue. I can't believe he would actually be for this financial dispute with PK.
Based on the offers we've seen and read about, I have very little faith in MB in regards to how to handle Subban. This is a total cluster**** and our rookie GM has failed his first test (which should've been an easy layup.)
It's hard to stay positive when we continue to make unforced errors that don't make any sense. It's one thing to not rebuild, that's fair enough. If managment feels a different route is the direction they want to go, so be it.
But the incompetence that we've seen is mindblowing. The Gomez fiasco, the Gauthier sideshow and now this... There's just no excuse for what's happening right now and if we're lucky Subban knuckels under and just signs with us. I wouldn't blame him at all though if he tells MB to go jump in the lake. All we can do is hope that he's willing to be ripped-off and play for us.

Right, now apply all of the same positive for PK. How exactly does one come to the conclusion that he's worth 200K more than Emelin?

Lol wut? New and refreshing angle for Subban debate!

Human nature. When someone puts you down and devalues you it's natural to be upset and not be around that person anymore.
MB is acting like a schoolyard bully with the leverage he has instead of a leader.

Still lacking vision. If he doesn't sign, he sits. Simple.
He wants to get a trade and GTFO? He signs and waits for the trade.

Won't disagree but I'm still hoping for the best even though I can't really see it.
I'm hoping Bergevin salvages whatever relationship with PK he has left, increases his offer and they come to a peaceful agreement, no grudges.

LMAO. I'm going on 34 soon and I'm much more in shape than Lafleur.
Lafleur might not look like he's 60, but he sure as hell doesn't look younger than 50.
In my mind, Bergevin has fired off several alarm balls.
Aside from Subban, I'd point out the ongoing circus in Hamilton, and his strange behavior in the last offseason, as both very bad indicators.
The ongoing "circus" in Hamilton is easy to explain.
Hamilton is in last place with the fewest goals scored by any team in the AHL.
Yet, that team is filled with players that have the mark of Gauthier and Timmins.
Go back to the threads admiring our draft picks as the next superstars. Go back to the threads admiring Gauthier's trades (Holland for example) where they were lauded and applauded as the answer to getting the next Stanley Cup.
And then look at how those players in Hamilton were OVERRATED by most on this board.
Unfortunately, reality trumps fans enthusiastic and adoring overratings.
Great job habs guy that was the picture I was for.Not bad for a so called Party guy.And at 61
You know you can be a party guy and be ripped too right?
You also can eat crap all life, do little actually exercise, and live longer than someone that is careful about every thing he eats and exercises regularly (and die of a sickness).
But this is very Off Topic and I don't even know what your initial point was..
Human nature. When someone puts you down and devalues you it's natural to be upset and not be around that person anymore.

Well, I know MB is offering PK less than he wants or feels he is worth, but I hadn't heard anywhere that he was putting PK down. That sounds personal to me, and there's been no indication of that that I've come across. In fact, MB has stated publicly that he wants to sign PK and isn't interested in trading him. Do you think he turns around and puts PK down? What good would that do?
MB is negotiating with PKs agent, he's not being a schoolyard bully lol. When a deal gets done, I'm not assuming that PK will sook about it and let vengeful feelings fester. I expect him to prove his worth and then get a bigger, longer contract that takes that into account. Because I think PK is strong in character.
MB is actually using the CBA the way it should be used. It is in place to keep salaries in line until players reach UFA status. Posters on here need to wake up. The mess the NHL gets itself in is when GM's overpay before they have to. Agents then use these overpay contracts as new benchmarks and then we are a mess again resulting in a lockout. MB's stance should be applauded and followed by all GM's.
