Kind of can't wait for Khabibulin to show up... to remind us of how awesome Dubnyk is.

The rebounds are Dubnyk's biggest enemy, he needs to control them more.

An interesting little stat. I was curious how Dubby's statline would look if it weren't for that SJ period.

He's been totally lights out: .944 SV%, 2.93 GAA
GAA doesn't look stellar, but a) SAVE PERCENTAGE! and b) he's faced a lot of shots.

I'm confident with him moving forward, he just needs to keep improving and reducing those bad goals/bad games.

I don't think he is as bad as the rest of HF does, but certainly dont think he is as good as some here do.
The 6 goals wasn't a fluke? He hadn't let up 3 goals or more in about 35(?) starts previous to that, seems pretty flukey to me.
I'm not completely sold on Dubnyk but it's amazing what some posters will do to discredit his accomplishments.
Say what you want about him but he put up respectable stats the last 2 seasons behind some very shoddy defense and has stellar stats this season outside of the 6 goal period against San Jose. He is also above .500 the last 3 seasons. The guy produces solid results at least thus far.

This is the only thing that keeps me from being optimistic. Entering last season, I thought he was going to be the goalie for the Oilers. Like someone mentioned, after 10 games, same **** all the time. I hope I eat my words but Dubnyk hasn't proved anything when the pressure is on.

Say what you want about the forwards and the dman but come playoff time, you best player, IMO-and I'm sure a lot of teams as well, better be your goalie. That soft goal-that one softy that he lets by, is debilitating and can make or break a team.

Last nights game against Pho went a long way to help me see him as a NHL starter. It was a full 60 minute effort with no weak goals. Pho is not a power house but he had to make some quality saves there. His rebound control was a lot better as well.

Hope he continues to improve and does away with those softies he has been letting in all over the place.

I actually thought the game against Colorado showed a lot there to. What did they have, something like 22 shots in the third period? Dubs is playing very good hockey this year. He had one really bad period so far. That's it. He's just one of those guys like Gagner and Hemsky that people only notice the bad things they do, and very rarely notice the good.

Hmmm not sure if *sustainable*...

...nor for real.

I can't believe people don't think Dubnyk isn't at least capable of being an average starting goalie in this league.

Nah, that one was very good.
I really liked the right pad stop on (Marleau?) right in the crease down a man in OT.
Again, unlike some folks I have no problem giving credit when due and admitting when I'm wrong.

^ Could we pleeeease for the love of all that is sacred stop calling him Duby, Dubby, Doobie, Doby, Dobie, Dubbie and any other horrible renditions of his nickname.

The man's mask says Dubey. If you can't remember that then maybe just go ahead and type out Dubnyk.

Many asking, so OK. If you take out his period against San Jose when he allowed 6 on 17, Dubnyk's SV% is 0.945.

He let in 3 Goals against Calgary.
A goalie gives holds to 3 goals or less you have a chance to win.

Sadly as Kerry Frasor pointed out on TSN.
The Backland Goal should've been disallowed like the Gagner goal.

So he had 1 20 min Period of 6 Goals on 17 shots
Out duelled Luongo and Quick gave up the same number of legal goals as kipper facing 35 shots versus 20G.

A Legit Starter: lets see if this is trite.

Since Nov8 2012 playing with a Dcore based on:
Smid-Petry-Whitney-Sutton/N. Schultz
Minus the first SJS Game

20W - 9L - 3 OTL 1.89GA .941SV%

with the SJS game

20W - 10L - 3 OTL 2.06GA .937 SV%

So this is a ful season sample of games with Dmen that are still hear.

So how many .653 WiN% .937 SV% goalies were there last year?

Do you believe the single game that was a full team failure is reflective of his play.

Or the does the 33 games with the major % of the current Dcore more reflective of his play.

Hmm 26 games last year with a record of 16W - 8L - 2 OTL 2.04GA .931 SV%

7 Games this year.
20 min of team hell.

6 games

373 MIN 199 shots 9G 1.45GA 190/199 = .955 SV%

Really want to see your Elite Goaltender!

Played well tonight, we got a point because of Dubnyk. One of the better games I've ever seen from him considering the absolutely lethal opposition. Nice to see the bounceback after getting shelled by the same lads last week.
