Why not trade Stastny and then re-sign O'Reilly? Statsny would bring in a really good return, and would open up the capspace/real-dollars to sign ROR. And then you are keeping the player who is 6 years younger, and has a more managable contract.

It would also solve O'Reilly's complaint about being too much center depth with the Avs.

Buffalo could probably offer up an interesting package.

Stafford, Brennan, 1st for O'Reilly?

Because it has nothing to do with Stastny and everything to do with RoR and his contract demands.

The type of money he is looking for coming out of entry-level puts him in a class with some of the league's most elite players and he's not at that level just yet. It's not that the Avs can't AFFORD to pay him that money, it's that he hasn't EARNED it yet to this point. They offered him a fair, 2 year contract, same money as Duchene and close to the same money as Giroux. Why he feels he deserves MORE money than a player like Giroux at the same point in his career is beyond me but I think his agent has done a pretty good brainwashing job here.

He's been skating for a while now in Cleveland with the AHL team, but I don't think he's ready for games yet. Really bad luck for the kid but you can't rush these things.

To Colorado: TJ Brennan or Jordan Leopold + Nathan Gerbe maybe even stafford.

To Buffalo: Ryan O'Reilly

throw a 4th and a 5th on either side as well.

You cannot really compare him to Giroux. He is such a bargain for the Flyers it almost smells fishy.

Sbisa is going to be a really good defender and already has some of the tools, like physical game.

Sbisa and DSP would be an awesome deal for us. I personally would like someone more offensive than DSP like Palmieri (we would definitely have to add), but I doubt Duck fans would want him included for anything. Is there a way we could switch DSP for Kerdiles?

Also I think this proposal should be the bench mark for posters of the other teams.

Any deal would start with Stafford or even Ennis.

Leopold is a pending UFA and Brennan is a bottom pairing guy at this point.

O'Reilly is a proven two way center and 21.

Or Hodgson, which would make more sense to me. Slide Ennis between Vanek and Pominville, you don't miss a beat, in fact you are probably better. Put O'Reilly between Stafford and Foligno and you have a very good two way line that can function as a shut down line. I don't understand why Sabres fans constantly put Ennis on the table but refuse to move Hodgson. I guess it's because he's new and shiny.

Bozak + Gardiner

For

ROR + average prospect

Bozak can be a good # 3 C for you guys, and Gardiner would be a nice compliment to EJ.

I'm a Leafs fan, and it's pretty obvious you guys would have to add fairly significantly to either of those guys in a trade for ROR. Especially Nino.

No way they move Palmieri in that deal. He's too important right now. Perry's contract status kinda cripples any chance of the Ducks moving any of their top six forwards right now, which Palmieri is.

I think Murray would offer Sbisa+DSP and the teams would exchange later picks to even it out if needed. Maybe they add a different prospect instead of DSP but it won't be named Etem or Palmieri.

Yeah, I love Ryan, but trading Spezza would be beyond retarded with the Sens young centers coming up. Like Staz for us, Spezza takes a lot of the pressure and focus, so your young centers can adjust and transition to the NHL, without also having to deal with being the oppositions primary focus from day one.

Jeffrey + Tangradi + Despres

For

ROR

ROR-Sid-Dupuis
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal

ROR slides into center when needed.

Avs get a great upcoming dman, gritty pf prospect, and a replacement 3-4C that is versitle. All on the cheap. Saves $, solves ROR issue.

With RoR gone we are paper thin on forward. One injury away from being a lottery team.

Kessel for ROR could be a good basis for a deal, no?
