This is like one of those paradoxical questions.

If no one would ever bother making a claim, has a player really gone through waivers?

Wandell is on a conditioning assignment so waivers aren't needed. I am at a stoplight but I think that means he can stay down for 2 weeks or 4 games.

This could be the wrong assumption, but I figured GMJN would have addressed any forward injuries when he gave updates on Kari, Daley, and Whitney.

You guys are delusional if you think Gully is going to scratch Morrow. If they have one iota of hope of trading him, scratching him does nothing but bring the value down and make a difficult situation almost impossible, especially when you take fans into consideration. He may be benched and moved down the lineup again when Whitney is healthy but in the meantime he's not going to get scratched for a guy most casual fans have never heard of.

Same with Ryder. He's got the most value, doesn't have an NMC and should bring a nice return. He's been setting up Eakin and again can get hot at anytime. They aren't going to do anything to damage his value.

Perhaps someone has a tweak and they just haven't said anything and Fraser is their backup plan.

I would hope they wouldn't scratch Reilly, Roussel, or Garbutt so that leaves the one last possibility which is Nystrom. I'm doubtful but let's see what happens. I think Fraser is stupidly the healthy scratch on Thursday, which is basically on par for this coach.

I really think the simple answer is the most likely here. Dallas wants to take a look at Fraser and have him practice with the big club for awhile. I wouldnt be surprised at all if he goes back before Texas' next game.

I don't think they'd call up Fraser with Texas having a game on Wednesday unless they planned on utilizing him during practices. We'll see tomorrow during line rushes, but how about something like this:

Loui-Benn-Jagr
Fraser-Roy-Smith
Morrow-Eakin-Ryder
Garbutt-Fiddler-Nystrom
Rousell

Idk if they'd go with 2 rookies with Roy, or two slow backcheckers with Eakin. But I don't see how they could call Fraser up without playing him in the top 9, nor would they want to break up that 4th line.

I think with all the Fraser speculation we're overlooking something else I think is important: Jordie Benn being called up instead of Oleksiak.

I think this is a good thing. Oleksiak looked a little tentative and overwhelmed up in Dallas (not horrible but it was there) but when I was watching him in Texas this last weekend he looked completely confident and was back to moving the puck quite well.

Hopefully this means Dallas knows he needs a little more time and isn't rushing him.

I don't know we overlooked it. When Reilly Smith went down, they said it was because he needed to play more than 4th line minutes. That's why he came back as soon as Whitney went down.

With Oleksiak, they said they wanted him to get more time in the AHL. I know I did, and I expect others did as well, expected to see Jordie coming up.

It also may mean the injury to Daley isn't expected to be significant, and Jordie will be the #7.

Good point. My thoughts were that since Benn wasn't immediately called up left it open for Oleksiak to be called up again first.

Oh I think Benn was coming up already. Heikas mentioned that Daleys injury doesnt seem severe so he might not even play unless its for Larsen or Goligoski. Also after the first 5 or so games I think Daley has been pretty crappy himself.

Jordie wasn't that bad when he was playing. I'd rather have him than Goligoski who has cost us more goals than the rest of our defense combined.

I don't really have a problem with Jordie playing. I am stoked about Fraser coming up.

Edited for a question. Will he be the first player sine GMJN to,wear 25, or am I wrong?

How dare you forget about Chris Conner.

Fraser played a game last season also, this isn't his debut.

He dressed, but I wouldn't say he played. He was allowed to watch from the bench.

Serious question (as I know nothing about the AHL team). Why so stoked over Fraser? What does he bring that we don't already have? His numbers are not astonishing or anything, and his plus minus is concerning.

Numbers are everything!!

The guy potted 37 goals last year in the AHL, he has a really good shot and plays a two-way game and he is not a small dude. Exciting player to watch.

He scores goals almost at will, the most important skill a player can have. He knows where the quiet areas on the ice are, gets into them, and makes himself available. He has a quick, accurate release. He goes to the net and can score ugly goals as well as being a threat from distance.

Maybe 61 goals in his first 2 AHL seasons isn't astonishingly good, but it's very good nonetheless.

And why is his plus-minus concerning? Not that you should be using that anyway, but he's a +12.
