I'd be hard to say. Bjugstad has a great shot so he might work well with Hubs.

This is why I want Mac. We need a true goal-scorer. The way you described Jones, Soupy came to mind (not comparing to what Jones could be, just saying it sounds a lot like what Soupy does).

The other Granlund scored the GWG with 2:50 left, we have a Game 5. Seems that HIFK gooned it up at the end whistle, some game misconducts handed out and stuff.

HIFK: Kurvinen 5+20 roughing, Melart 5+20 charging, Perrault 2+10 roughing, Toykkala 2 slashing

Tappara: Umicevic 2 roughing, Nieminen 5+20 roughing

edit: Barkov with TOI of 22:22.

I think he played both, and was playing wing more in his draft year. I think.

Anyway, Barkov has a pretty nasty wrist shot. I'd be happiest with either him or MacKinnon, but I like all four guys.

I can believe in arguments that Lindholm might be just as long-term. I have no clue how our scouts/Tallon rank the top tier of this draft, or whether their previous 3 years at the helm of the draft is a true indictator of style, or if it is random variance. Still, Lindholm doesn't scream Tallon type pick. Great prospect though, as is Monahan/Nichushkin.

Maatta is a good player. No doubt. Didn't like the Matheson pick at all to be honest, but he's having a good year and there is very much cause for optimism. Can be a solid second paring puck mover IMO. Just ignore everything Gudbranson for prez says about him (Or for that matter, his opinion on ANY prospect).

Shame Teravainen didn't fall to us. Whether we would have taken him is another thing altogether, but there are a few teams who had him Top 5. He fell due to circumstance. I'd actually seriously consider that "rumoured" offer of Mueller/Shore for Teravainen. Don't think it's ever going to happen of course.

Great hands, great pass, good shot, great hockey IQ, very calm and collected and hustles back. I can understand wanting Mackinnon/Drouin, but nobody should ever be disappointed if we end up with Barkov.

Plausible that he plays at the World Championships.

Whoever gets 3rd overall pick is going to be sitting pretty...kind of like what happened with the panthers and huberdeau. Just take the remaining player between mack, jones, drouin. Barkov could have an outside chance of breaking into top 3, but probably not.

I wouldn't be mad at all if we ended up with Barkov. I actually prefer him over Drouin.

1. MacKinnon

2. Jones

3. Barkov

4. Drouin

Huberdeau was questioned about his stats being overblown because of the strength of the Sea Dogs team at the time of the draft. I believe Drouin is the same case. Are his stats ridiculous because of the Mooseheads being such a strong team or is that good? Note, the Sea Dogs never had a "MacKinnon" or a "Frk". Those two are much better prospects than the players from the Dogs (guys like Philips, Coyle, Gauthier and Jurco) I think everyone knew Huberdeau was the strongest player from that Sea Dogs team.

First year.
Last two years in the Q he played wing, and his numbers went through the roof IIRC.

take mackinnon:

Huberdeau-MacKinnon-??? (possibly mueller)
Fleischmann-Bjugstad-Versteeg

take drouin (and if we did i'd try to resign weiss):

Fleischmann-Weiss-Versteeg
Huberdeau-Bjugstad-Drouin (this...would be nice line )

im strong on either taking mackinnon or drouin, get one of those and ill be sooooooo happy!
our top 2 lines will be very solid with one of those playing (and i think both will come up immediately, even drouin) along with bjugstad. even our third line will be awesome (especially if we keep goc, Bergenheim-Goc-Kopecky). getting one of these forwards will be huge for us! but which one will it be, we'll see, if we have the chance to take mac then i strongly think we take him, but lets see where we're picking and whos available, ill be ecstatic with either!

Id go Mac.

Mac - Bjugstad - Huberdeau
Mueller - Shore - Howden

Shore's two way play allows Mueller and Howden to take more chances, and I like how the three played tonight. Mac, Jugs, and Hubby would be the most talented line we have ever had.

The more I read about Drouin, the more I like him. His stick handling is amazing and has a good touch around the net. Definitely would not be disappointed if we draft him

I think we are going to get a solid pick in this years draft, but drouin I am a bit wary. All the dekes and crazy movement will not last too long in the NHL IMO.

Can't wait to see what goes down when draft day comes rolling out. Jones or Mackinnon all the way.

The only thing that concerns me about Drouin is his skill set is pretty similar to Huberdeau's. I like diversity in my top 6.

well i wouldnt mind having datsyuk and st. louis on the same line, i dont know if those are perfect comparisons but just making an example. huberdeau and drouin on opposite wings would be insane! the passing, the iq, the stick handling, and both can finish. and most likely you'd have bjugstad between them long term, so he'd bring some diversity there anyways.
