Great. Beagle thinks because he is playing with Ovechkin, he can dangle. If he actually had a brain he would of done a drop pass to Ovechkin.

And of course people who have know perspective on the shot that was available, yell at Ovechkin. It hit Crabb in the balls.

Please tell me what "legit starter" would have nullified all those defensive breakdowns in the first 3 games.

I'd be up for a sure fire 1st line goalie (Luongo)...but it would represent a major shift in tactics for McPhee who has largely relied on inexperienced players on D and in Goal (clearly a brilliant strategy).

Caps generating some nice momentum, have to keep it up. Neuvirth MUST make a few saves here, can't let all the momentum get destroyed with a weak goal against.

That was a fine move that lead to a quality scoring opportunity.

At least Beagle takes it to the net strong.

I like he had the confidence in his game to try to dangle.

Oh I see.
I really don't think Ovi is fried as one guy said. He has what it takes to be what he was sometimes you see flashes of it. He needs help finding it.
Caps look good today.

Haha exactly what I was thinking. I like Beagle alot but he makes one move and people jump over it and criticize Ovechkin. That shot had such a low chance of going in.

And we're not getting another netminder to replace Holtby or Neuvirth. The only way that happens if that netminder is a vet and we get a huge piece out of it.

exactly... drop passing to ovechkin would've been just another missed shot and quite possibly an odd-man rush the other way given how inaccurate and wild ovi's shot is.

It's not about making every save man, it's about making the big save at a timely moment that gives your team a boost and forces momentum in your direction. Luongo can make those saves on a nightly basis.

But they're not able to play like this because they're worried about giving up a scoring chances against that their goalie wont be able to stop.

Dear GMGM, go out and get a legitimate starter who can instil confidence throughout the lineup and watch the team start dominating the play again.
That would only mask numerous other flaws with the team that would rear their head in the playoffs.

I'd go as far as saying that getting Luongo could get us into the playoffs this year (which at this point requires a very good run), but then McPhee would interpret that as a sign of the team doing well and an excuse not to throw out half the roster as he needs to for us to take the next step.

I understand the concept, I'm just saying that so far a 1st line starter would probably have lost in the same fashion or pretty close to it. If your goalie is getting hung out to dry all of the time...well..

Drop passing to Ovechkin would leave him wide open for the shot and the netminder out of position. He was moving towards his right to stop Beagle's chance.

Ovechkin could've easily buried that. Even 40 point in 82 game season Ovechkin.

Why is Neil Smith trying to slam Ovy on the Ennis goal? Ovechkin is a winger. that wasn't his guy to pick up.

If by "it" you mean a properly built team that plays to his strengths and doesn't have gaping holes everywhere, then probably.

I'd rather just build a proper team though. But if this keeps dragging on I may support him leaving just so I can latch onto his new team and watch him light the league up again.
