That would be a pretty good line. Cappy was raving about Aucoin in the post game, how he can use him on any line, any game situation. He obviously likes and trusts him out there. Starting to think this might be great:

Moulson Tavares Boyes
Grabner Nielsen Ullstrom
Bailey Aucoin Okposo
Martin Cizikas Joensuu

Exactly.

Or the "This Won't Last Line"

Aucoin probably gets his 10 games and then is sent down as support for the Tigers. Bailey and Joensuu will bring more to the table than Aucoin and McDonald.

I really like what Garth did though, bringing these AHL pros in as stop-gaps. The Strait pick-up in particular was fantastic.

Haha thats what I was thinking. Im real excited to see Bailey playing with Ullstrom and Aucoin. He needs to take a shooters mentality though. Don't need to see him looking to pass all the time.

Meh, I'm one of the few who thinks the Okposo-Tavares marriage could work long term. There's a lot of Kyle hate here, but I think it's largely unfounded. In fact, before Moulson's second goal (or was it his first, because Im pretty sure JT scored the first one) I was thinking Moulson was the guy that needed to be removed from the line.

I mean I know Moulson was never a burner, but WOOOOOOOOW. This extended off-season hasn't been good for him. He's statuesque!

The MISFIT line because they're a collection of misfit toys that is actually kind of working.

Exactly. What has McDonald done so far? He is pretty much invisable. Hardly the worst guy on the ice but, Come On?
I rather see Bailey or Nino on this team/line. btw Reasoner and Finley are just awful

Be honest. They are both holding John back. Imagine what one, established, first line wing would do next to Tavares? It would be utter sickness.

On the line name just go with what the OP practically spelled: MAULine

I have no KO hate, I think he's a very good player on a team with not many very good players. Of course he can play on the top line but I think the chemistry with Bailey is better-suited for the NYI. Boyes is a better passer and scorer than Okposo and since Tavares does all the dirty work, forechecking, passing on the first unit, Boyes makes for a better option than KO.

Aucoin is the type of player that both Bailey and KO can learn from. He's smart offensively, responsible defensively, works hard, great passer and those three give the Isles a legitimate threat of a 3rd line that they haven't had in a long time.

Boyes is perfect for that top line. That's why I thought they got him.

I can't believe I'm praising Aucoin after three games, and after I was adamant he should be sent to BP. But he's earning it.

Hmm, i'm liking these pairings very much! I would love to see how Ullstrom would do on a line with Nielsen and Grabner, but after today's game and the production from that 2nd line it will be hard to break them up right now. This might be a nice experiment if that line falters though.

This thread should be closed...why would we name a line that is not going to stay intact....

Man...how things change.. Nearly EVERYONE here didn't want Aucoin on this team. The guy is an amazing leader for the younger guys..ALL the younger guys....even Tavares. Aucoin is the type of guy, I believe the Isles wanted out of Reasoner.

I call this new line with Aucoin, the "Gilligan" Line. Bunch of castaways that people gave up on, but proved to have decent chemistry. If Aucoin keeps playing the way he has, then He could be our full time 3rd line center..at least until we get to Brooklyn. The guy makes things happen. Putting him on 4th line would be a waste for him. Even Nino couldn't do anything. ACTUALLY, I wouldn't mind a line like:

Ullstrom - Aucoin - Nino in the future. Aucoin is the exact type of player that could jumpstart Nino, especially with the work ethic of both Ullstrom and Aucoin. Too bad both are lefties. Maybe toss around Ullstrom - Aucoin - Kabby or Nino Aucoin Kabby. Man, Aucoin is perfect for developing our younger prospects.

No not everyone but I saw outside hate from Maple Leafs fans who care about the Marlies alot more than Isle fans. Some fans of our team called the Islanders a joke. As to say waiver guys and AHL vets who never got a full time chance dont belong. The majority of fans trust Garth and understand we are headed in the right direction. Its fun to acquire players that teams cant fit on the roster or think they are too small for the NHL. I love building a team this way. Seriously Nabokov, PA, Moulson, Grabner, Strait, and now Aucoin. IM surprised NYI didnt get Cory Conacher. I hope the Islanders sign Aucoin, Boyes, and Strait to extensions.

The Chairman Line.

MAU Tse Tung? (yes, I know, it's Mao, but why not?)

MacDonald, Aucoin and Ullstrom have been awesome, and 2/3 of them are here because they're cheap, but I predicted Aucoin as a solid pivot and he hasn't disappointed in the least. Perhaps he's the chairman if he keeps playing so well all year.

Boyes is garbage. Thankfully, he's gone after this season.

This line has scored 5 goals in 5 games. They average 11 minutes of ice time a game. I'm sure some teams wish their 1st line was producing at that rate at this point in the season.

Hell, JT-MM.KO only have 5 goals so far, with just a tad more ice-time and PP time.
