I legitimately felt bad when Edmonton won the draft lottery and took the 1st overall pick from Columbus, especially given the whole Rick Nash ordeal.

Its very painful to hear you argue that its harder to be an oiler fan than a columbus fan. Through years of failure you have had 3 first overall picks in a row and competent drafting before that to constantly have a prospect pool to watch. Any karma lost from Pronger should be easily erased by having Shultz simply waltz on to your team costing your team absolutely nothing. Also a stanley cup final appearance in recent memory. No matter how bad your team is the battle for Alberta is always an exciting game. Your team has had more going for it throughout Columbus franchises entire short history then I care any more to count.

Take a look at Columbus franchise's goaltending, draft history, and prospect development. Even the first round draft history alone. Now combine that with 1 playoff appearance that was a sweep and your franchise captian and all star forwards demanding trades because they can't take it anymore getting latteral or worse value in return for both.

Oiler fans GTFO

Aside from all that Toronto fans have put up with colectively more B.S. than any other team AINEC. If you only go back 10-15 years then Columbus takes it then maybe Buffalo.

The Leafs. Despite their lack of recent success they always have great support. It's not the fans fault that their team has been poorly managed.

How are you suffering exactly? You're a perennial playoff team. Do you think the Sharks fanbase is suffering?

Probably Minnesota and Toronto. Both representative of their countries in the NHL but need something to reward these fanbases. Two teams that time and time again show they don't have bandwagon fans.

Even if it was before you were born? The majority of Leaf fans weren't even born the last time the Leafs won a cup.

12 years might not sound much to many but the only positive thing I can think about during that time was that day we drafted Nash, other than that it has been a constant let down and pain. How that is comparable to others I do not know.

No doubt it's Columbus

You could make the case for the Flyers though, they have a great team every year that hasn't won since the 70's. Constant heartbreak.

Any team that has a perennial contender is hard to feel sorry for. Especially a team that goes out and screws other teams over consistently.

Wow. A lot of love for Columbus.

I couldn't vote for a team that's only been around since 2000' but anyways to each their own.

For future expansion franchises: Don't hire Doug Maclean.

Add 21 years to the Sharks not winning the Cup then come back to me.

Canucks fans for the first 20 years? I guess we had 82, but it was a lean TWO decades.

I think the Toronto and Vancouver fans need to learn a lesson in humility before being called "undeservedly suffering". However, I will agree that they are "suffering".

I'm gonna vote Buffalo.

The ultimate "Woe is me" thread.

I can't say the Canucks, I just can't. We've had some very good teams in the last decade. We've seen good hockey, we've seen playoff hockey consistently in recent years. We've seen some great seasons and some great players (Naslund, Bure, Sedins, Luongo).

We've even been ever so close to a championship, and still have a team that can compete for one.

I personally just don't feel very "suffereing" as a Canucks fan. Maybe because I haven't been around for all 43 years.I'd like to think there are fans out there far more "suffering" than myself. Leafs/Panthers/Blue Jackets/Jets have had it far worse than me.

Now that I think about it, the obviously answer has to be Winnipeg. They've never really had a championship calibre team, and they had to deal without having ANY hockey for over a decade.

Completely agree. That's why I wouldn't put the Canucks, Sharks, Flyers, Blues, Sabres in this discussion.

I don't think you are a suffering fan if your team came within 1 game of winning Stanley Cup just 2 years back.

1 game from the cup doesn't mean ****, at least that's what I'm told on here

We are not the "most suffering" but we are somewhat suffering imo

It's the NHL. Every 8 years we have to worry about losing a full season of hockey.

All fans are suffering.

Washington. All major sports teams in this city sucked until recently (except the Wizards, they still suck). While I tend to think most Washington fans are bandwagon, the Caps have broken a lot of people's hearts these past few years.

this has to be columbus for me, they've been mediocre to bad in their existence and with all the bad seasons and low draft picks you would have liked to see some growth, compared to the wild it's just gotta hurt to be a fan for the blue jackets, i feel for them.

They have had the pleasure of watching one of the most exciting players in sports for the past 8 years.

Columbus fans get a lot of **** for nothing. They finally get the ASG, and the lockout cancels it. The refs continue to make horrendous calls against them. They were the clear-cut favorites to win the Draft Lottery, but enter Edmonton to ruin it for them. I know they're a divisional opponent, but you have to have some kind of empathy for them.
