If Ebbett is getting the ice time he got tonight it's an indictment on the rest of the team...if everyone was playing to their ability Ebbett would be buried on the bench.

I'm not accusing you of panicking. But teams have off nights, bad puck luck. When you combine that with a team on a hot streak with a player who just broke a nearly 100 year record, this kind of night can happen.

I think we more or less agree, though. On to the next game.

Canucks puck movement not as good as the sharks.

If they play like this tomorrow, Kings will own them. Kings don't sit back like the sharks do.

He played way better tonight. Did all the little things and hit one of our 5 posts. Still has room for improvement though.

Agreed. I was going to ask if he is hurt because he has been invisible

Surely there's someone better than Ebbett to put out there. He was just as terrible as everyone else worthy of blame.

Kesler, sure. Booth won't do anything. He's a plug.

I feel like he was trying to do those things in earlier games as well-- still the same disappointing result tonight (seems to be a speed/strength issue right now)

Schroeder would have been a better choice...at least he has high hockey IQ and fast.

Who? Obviously this team has better players, but if you are AV and you want to send a message to your key players you have to put someone else out there. The Sedins were invisible, Lapierre was a ******, can't just play Schroeder all 60 minutes. Hopefully the message has been delivered to those who didn't play up to par.

Higgins is a stick work (and I mean that in a non dirty way) kind of player - when he's playing well, he's winning puck battles, breaking up plays, etc...not yet at last year's level but much better I feel.

Combined for nothing.

Blaming Andrew Ebbett is just dumb.

Blame the 6 million dollar men.
Ebbett's contributed directly to the loss. He's absolutely inadequate. Those who have maintained that somehow Ebbett was going to be able to play at this level are hopefully now able to change their opinion given the obvious evidence of his play.

He never could play at this level and never will be able to play at this level.

Thought burrows and volpatti also showed up to play. Kassian wasnt bad either.
Also we have to realize that we're on the first game of a back to back in a shortened season. Dont think AV had a choice but to put Ebbett on the PK

I thought it was a pretty even game considering the top line and PP did nothing.

Our special teams misses Kesler more than I imagined they would. Ebbett is not a suitable replacement on the PK, and the PP just looks flat without the threat of his shot.

I feel his stickwork was about the same this game.

Clearly the management is looking to tank for the lottery by playing Ebbett in key situations.
