I thought it just might be rust the first game or two, but I'm starting to worry about Rinne. His numbers weren't that great in the KHL, and I've barely seen any of the old Rinne we're used to seeing.

When did I claim a player was available right now? You gotta jump on a trade when players DO come available. Don't wait until January to improve your club. It has nothing to do with assets we have or don't have. It's about stepping up and making something happen.
You claimed we can't trade for anyone because we would have to give up our best guys. That is simply not the case.
The Yotes play what used to be Predators hockey ... keep it tight and turn mistakes into a rush the other way. They outdid us at our game last playoffs and we're not playing that style at all so far this season.
Every one of their goals tonight was directly resultant from a Preds error with the puck ... turn it over, watch it end up on (or past) Peks. For this Preds team to succeed, they must play within the system .... and they aren't.
Yup. They're NOT playing the system. Too many turnovers and sloppy play. They need to tighten it up big time. In the past Pekka would bail them out some of the time. That ain't happenin' either.
What really irks me is listening to our coaches interviews during the game. I am sick and tired of hearing about their "system" and how hard it makes it on us. This is a depleted team that is starting an AHL goalie that has a 1-4 record. That system hasn't been too hard on anyone else this year.........

On top of this, I'm not sure there are many teams out there who are going to touch Weber's cap hit. Rinne's is high, too. Assuming those are our best guys, then no, we don't have to give them up.
Our next trading partner needs to be a team that is desperately wanting to dump cap. That way we can get better value for the trade.
