Hoping to get rid of Allen is hilarious. He had a bad game, but he's a big, strong, responsible guy and before tonight I had no problem with his game. If you expect to make a run through the playoffs, you stock up on guys like him, not get rid of him and hope a small rookie playmaker can fill his role.

Love his and Souray's additions to the lineup.

If we keep winning with Perry playing like crap, and he won't sign an extension i'd have no problem moving him if we got a good deal. Bobby Ryan is more than capable of playing his natural position, if we were able to get a 2nd line center(or winger if Ryan continues to do well at center) a good prospect and a 1st it has to be considered, again under the premise he is intent on testing the market.

an interesting rental could be Mike Ribiero

Yeah, he's definitely not as bad as some of the trash bin dmen we've had the past few years. I agree with what Paul said earlier; He's just been playing minutes that are above his head.

Make all the excuses anybody wants, to this point in time Allen has been just an awful player. Poor positioning, terrible puck handling, can't pass, can't skate and takes stupid penalties. Did I miss anything? Andy Sutton II.

You guys need to realize that he was brought in to dish out the crosschecks to the face, and nothing more.

Gotta wonder if there's any reason why we don't try Rakell on the wing. If he doesn't play soon he's gonna get the send down. No better time to give that an experiment than against the injury ridden Avalanche (not that they'll be a walk in the park, but there's worse times to tinker...like against the best team in the west for instance)

would like to see this tried out

Etem-Getzlaf-Perry
Palmieri-Ryan-Selanne
Winnik-Koivu-Cogliano
Beleskey-Bonino-Rakell

Souray-Beauchemin
Allen-Lydman (maybe on his game, Toni can cover for Sutton)
Sbisa-Vatanen (assuming Fowler doesn't come back, if he does, go back to default)

Fasth

against Colorado.

Totally agree on that lineup. Etem's forechecking abilities should make wonders for Getzlaf and Perry. Especially considering how bad the 1st line played until the second half of the 3rd period vs Sharks. Rakell should get a shot on the wing at least for one final audition.

And for gods sake Bruce - keep the 3rd line intact.

Tonight was my first game in person, this season. I have to say I was very impressed with what I had seen of Etem on TV to this point. But seeing all the ice tonight I'm very much impressed with his play away from the puck. Props to Exit Dose for pointing this out previously but it really becomes more apparent when you aren't limited by only seeing what the camera shows you. And his speed really can create offensive opportunities. He looks faster than Teemu. If he keeps up the strong two way play I think he may really deserve to stay.

I don't really understand all the Fasth hate. There isn't a goaltender in the league that doesn't occasionally give up rebounds. And while he may need to work on that he made some great saves tonight and has been as good as any backup we've had since Bryz. Let's not forget, he was only brought in to be a back up. I think he is far more impressive than a JDD has been or ever would be.

This. Can't believe people think last night was his only bad game. It obviously shouldn't mean anything that every single time we see the number 55 we get nervous right?

Allen needs to sit a game... maybe that's what he needs to wake up.
