I still think the best part of that was the idiotic reason that led Kevin Lowe to kill the trade.

if we lose all 4 for nothing, we better fire bob murray.. sure koivu/selanne wont' garner anything in return thats fine

but losing your top 2 offensive players FOR NOTHING!? that's on you Murray

Didn't know where else to put this...

I have been so impressed with Cogs this season. He is playing leaps and bounds better than last season...that speed of his and his willingness to get physical and go to the front of the net have been very noticeable.

A big reason for the success of the third line to be sure.

Cogs looks alot better now that we have him in a good role his speed makes things happen out there

If Perry brought us enough in return, i'd be comfortable with Ryan taking his spot with Getzlaf. problem is, is getting a return to justify the trade if you're trying to win this year

I dislike cogs and his contract more than most.

But as stated above.. the guy has found a role. Especially late in tge second and 3rd periods, the guys speed and effort on plays has really been noticeable. He is overpaid... for sure.... but right now, i am becoming a fan.

The guy makes ~2.4 mill...that is not so bad. Especially considering Allen making 3.5

I want MVPerry back. The last part of that season he was a god damn machine. At one point he had 19 goals in 14 games. That's just beyond ridiculous.

But if he is as **** at trade deadline as he is today; I say trade him (even if we are in the playoff race).

What is this talk about losing four top players? Getzlaf isn't going away, Selänne definitely has years left in him, Koivu will stay if the Ducks offer him a contract and Perry is a mystery. Chill out people.

There is no reason to panic. Thankfully, Bob Murray locked up Fowler this offseason. Another good move by him

Perry will be gone, unless he plays so bad this season that his value drops, thus allowing Ducks to give a competitive offer.

And I don't actually mind losing Perry, I feel like he's not as awesome as before. As long as we get at least a first rounder in return, I don't mind.

How would you guys feel about going after Raffi Torres in the offseason? I wanted the Ducks to go after him when his contract ended with Vancouver. He could definitely bring in some nastiness, physicality and he can fight. He's also capable of scoring 10-20 goals per season. Torres, Winnik and Beleskey as bottom 6 wingers doesn't sound too bad, and if DSP comes around and plays like in last season, they would have a nice combination of nastiness and ability to score. I don't know where Cogliano would fit though.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
ANA expected to make decision this week on underager Rickard Rakell, who has averaged 8:57 in 4 GP. If he plays 6, burns yr of EL contract.

It's funny, Perry will probably break out and have a two or three goal game pretty soon and the tune of everyone's song will completely turn around.

The reactions around here are so knee-jerk it's crazy.

IMO the difference is giving him a role he's actually suited for. What he's doing now is pretty much what his projection always was. Edmonton (and Anaheim last year) just got stars in their eyes from an impressive early season.

More than likely...

But in the mean time.. Lets continue the Perry walking theme..

Perry

for

Kesler + Jensen

We get our #2C and shifty large body goal scorer who is ready to step in next year. I'm positive Perry would resign in Van. Canada + Sedins + perennial contender. He can't say no, can he? Lol

I know most are scared off by Kesler because of his injury but I still think its beyond fair value for Perry especially as he can walk for free.

Perry has been garbage but it's Pears. We all know what he's capable of. I think he will start producing soon, but if he doesn't, we're in trouble. With rumors about Getz resigning, hopefully there is news about Perry too. If not, we seriously need to move him. Get back a first and a good forward prospect to play on the second line and get Bobby on the top line.

Back to Perry though... has anyone else noticed that he seems to take shifts off mentally, and then tries to come back on the next on super hard and just tries too hard and achieves nothing? I feel like the biggest problem is him doubting himself.

If we trade Perry, I'd much prefer he go to the east. No reason to think we couldn't get a good deal in the east.

Duckscolorman: Interesting #NHLDucks practice lines: Ryan-Koivu-Selanne, Palmieri-Getzlaf-Winnik, Cogliano-Bonino-Perry, Beleskey-Etem-Staubitz-Rakell.

1st & 2nd lines look good. I'm not sure about the third line though

That will last one period, we will be losing by 1 or 2, and BB will put back the new GOD line together and all will be well again!

They need to get Perry going, so while I don't see it lasting long it's worth a try. I think we will see Ryan-Koivu-Selanne again because they were great in the last game.
