I can`t say i 100% agree with those lines, but looking from Bruce standpoint i think he done it because:

Koivu is our top scorer and totally on fire right now.
We finally have a decent 2nd line center in Getz
Ryan and Teemu is also playng great thus far (Ryan played bad at the begining but have found his game)
7 players have scored at least 4 goals and Perry is not one of them. (1 goal). Put him on the 3d line with less presure to being able to create plays. I think this one is a good move. Perry scored a SO goal vs St.Louis, that should give him a little confidence back.

I'm not entirely sure the order of the lines is correct. Getz will probably still lead the centres in TOI.

Definately.

But Bruce wil probably use Koivu more often in offensive situations. His linemates (Bobby and Teemu) are also > than Palms and Winnik in offensive aspect.

I doubt it`s about demoting Getz. Koivu is on fire so far, and Bobby and Teemu were amongst league 3 stars affter the last game.
It`s just the part of neverending juggling Bruce is doing. But i do think it`s a good thing, as long as team is winning. Why? Because, if we do get into the playoffs, the team have more chemistry with each otheer and can adjust to a game in a lat more ways together, and that is pretty important for playoffs imo.

Well, if we don`t get to the playoffs, then we`re screwed

Maybe the line juggling is just his master plan of not letting opponents line match against us.

If the thing is to get Perry to to produce, why not put him with Koivu and Ryan who are on fire right now?

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Selanne
Ryan-Koivu-Perry

Fun fact. Ducks conceded 16 ES goals, Beauchemin was on ice for 3 of them. All-Star D-man's team conceded 16 ES goals, All-Star D-man was on ice for 8 of them.

Are you referring to Doughty? Or someone else?

Edit: Or Schultz?

Probably one of the Ranger defensemen. New York fans were basically saying that Beauchemin wouldn't crack their top 4, and said top 4 is clearly better than Beauchemin.

What do you think of Omark on the first or second line?
Edmonton doesn't seem to want him back.

He is an powerplay-specialist and his first season with Edmonton he was on a 0.5/ppg pace playing on the third line.
I really think he would boost the first or second line when playing with some of the snipers there is in Anaheim.

And hello there from Sweden. Fasth fan here.

I know our forwards have done pretty well, but I hope BM is all over ROR. Guy like that shouldn't be available, but for whatever reason he is, and whoever gets him is probably coming out ahead. Hopefully Holland+ could get it done.

Quick Hits...

With both Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf being the Parise and Suter of this coming summer's UFA Frenzy...Many are seriously questioning if the Ducks can possibly afford both or if in order to get both under contract they will have to move other salary (ex: Bobby Ryan)?

My sources say that despite the great start by Getzlaf if the Ducks can keep one of the pair it would be Corey Perry that they hook their wagons to. It is one of those classic debates and it reminds me of the summer the Senators had to decide between Chara and Redden. At the time I felt the Sens were making the right call by keeping Redden, but history would prove otherwise as Chara would continue to develop into the mega Superstar he has become.

Getzlaf on the open market would be incredibly intriguing indeed, and early reports are clear...

An NHL source puts it this way:

"Getz is the player the Maple Leafs have been waiting to become a UFA for a few years now. The Canadiens also would go in heavy."

Another source, this one in the midwest says, "I know the Red Wings and Islanders each have a contingency plan in place to go after Ryan if the Ducks don't lock him up."

If the Ducks were to move Bobby Ryan you can be absolutely, 100% certain the Flyers would be their first call. The Flyers came remarkably close to acquiring Ryan (in fact for a few moments they believed they had a deal in place) at the last draft and have wanted to get Bobby in orange and black since he was a kid playing hockey across the river in South Jersey.

"My sources"

There is very little reason we would keep Perry over Getzlaf.

there is no way that we prioritize perry over getzlaf. our system is strong on wingers, light on centers, the way you build a top team is DOWN THE MIDDLE, getzlaf is easily the no.1 priority to sign right?

That's ridiculous by Eklund.

I don't see why a team would choose a #1 winger over a #1 center unless that winger was Gretzkey etc

I can't wait until the Getzlaf and Perry to Columbus rumors starts, once (if) Burke takes over that team.

I'm starting to really like Bobby at center, he's so much more involved in the game.

But I'd still like the Ducks to make a few moves:

Send Etem down. He's not ready for top 6 minutes, and playing on the 4th line is a waste.

X - Getzlaf - Perry
X - Ryan - Selanne
Winnik - Koivu - Cogliano
Beleskey - Bonino - X

Palmieri can play on the first or second line, but we still need another top 6 winger.

Staubitz should not be in the lineup every night. I'm fine playing him against certain teams, but we really need a player with more skill that still has size (if possible). Staubitz really limits the 4th line.

I'm willing to package Holland for a top 6 winger if Bobby continues to impress -- there simply wouldn't be any room for him in the future.

Thoughts?
