we can't move him for the sake of doing so
we need a quality trade.
if we get offered a bunch of crap you can't trade him

but yeah the idea of losing perry, selanne, and koivu in one off-season is scary

Add Getzlaf (lets for god sake don't hope so) to that list, and the world is going under.

Thought I'd do a quick statistical measure of TOI/G and TOI/P. Predicted Palmieri to be quite high on this, and he's not far behind our top liners. Koivu is without a doubt the most impressing one here.

Anyone see the guy that posted in the trades and rumors section.
Neal, Morrow and a 1st for Perry.
Where do we sign? Lol
They split Perry in half and he only scores 15 goals on each team lol

Koivu's offensive stats are not as impressive as his two-way play this season. He is among the top 10 centers in the NHL on five on five this season. He seems to be the second line center the Ducks hoped he could be (though he has played a lot in the third line but looking at his production he has been more of a first liner ).

Palmieri needs to be on the ice more. THe guy scores a goal every 30 minutes, and that's with him being totally snakebitten.

That's a statistical anomaly like the power play was after the first 10 games - fantastic in 2 games and invisible in 8. There's plenty of other reasons he should be getting top 6 minutes but he's been streaky, not a consistent threat. Granted, he's been absolutely robbed 4-5 times.

Your approach to TOI/P is not very fair because you divide goals & points by entire TOI, while different players spent different time on PK & PP and this definitely affect their production rate.
I think it would be more objective to look at production at even strength & power play separately. I can do it for you.

Even Strength

Power Play

You also have to factor in quality of competition, Getzlaf and Perry face the most difficult matchups the fact they do so well is a testament to how good they are. Saku as well

IF we found out Perry wasn't going to resign for sure.
Would you think about maybe going after a guy like Gaborik?
Or trying to suck Toronto dry and stock up on 2-3 good players cause they will overpay just to get a chance to talk to him and play for 2-3 months.

Gaborik isn't worth his contract even though it's not that long. Also I don't know what kind of players from Toronto would really benefit the Ducks. There are no defenders I would want from them, goaltending is fine too. They are not going to trade Lupul, Kessel, Grabovski or JVR. That leaves them with a lot of meh -type forwards and prospects who they won't trade. I doubt they butcher their team for few months of Perry, especially when they have a chance to get to playoffs.

If they find out about Perry's plans and they decide to trade him, he definitely should go to Eastern conference. And I believe that couple of forwards would be coming back.

Frattin and Kadri are really good. They wouldn't let go of Kadri for Perry, though.

If Perry goes I wouldn't mind a trade to Boston.

Norton I can see being very solid in a Ducks system.

Norton + 1 for Perry. Maybe add some more small pieces to the puzzle.

Lucic-Krejci-Perry

Yeah, wouldn't want to play against that line.

Even though Horton would be a good fit with Getzlaf, I'd prefer Krejci as the main piece in a deal with Boston. Boston would still have Bergeron and Seguin as two legitimate top 6 centres if they traded away Krejci.

We're not getting Krejci for an upcoming UFA.

Yes that sounds good. I think that Boston would have the best piece's to complete a deal. Both sides winning and Ducks would only see Perry 2 times a year.
