I agree, and I think it is the right move. No matter how things go it can hardly get worse in terms of our secondary scoring. Who knows, maybe Petrell will find his SM-liiga form (0.5 PPG) .

if the kid line and duby don't show up today , we lose bad. I'm expecting big things from Hall tonight, given his success against COL.

4-2 Edm if the kid's show up
3-1 if we crap out again.

I don't know.

The Oilers ability to lose "easy win" games over the past few years has almost been legendary.

If I remember correctly, Gagner is Hemsky's option at the goal line. Hemsky is on the half wall. Yakupov's first goal was a cross seam pass from the goal-line and both Gagner's goals were him driving the net. I like where he's at right now.

Whitney is replaceable if he can't contribute tonight.

For the love of Jove, get Petry in there and get that weak stuff out of there! Gah!

(watch him score)

I think this team is vulnerable to good defensive play that teams with less pure talent use in order to beat us.

I would like to see Petry in there as well. But with him playing big minutes EV and especially on the PK that might be tough to do.

Fistric obviously doesn't understand the system the Oilers are trying play. He really needs to cut out the hitting, physical play, drawing penalties and clearing the front of the net.

Alright it seems like every game I go to wearing my Eberle jersey we lose and every game I go to with Nuge we win. So I will wear my Nuge jersey to games from now on.

Oil in a SO. Eberle with the winner.
They continue the streak of not holding a lead for a 5th game

Don't really understand the motive then.
That makes literally zero sense.

I really don't want to be one of "those guys" who jump all over the new coach just because of a minor decision but I just can't wrap my head around this.

I'm assuming its just to get everyone playing time. That way they can move someone later

It's a little premature to start a fire the coach petition over our 6/7 dmen swapping

Whitney will take a penalty 4 minutes in,and Krueger will send out Potter, and Jan Hejda will put the Avs up 1-0.

Typical B.S!

When the result of swapping the 6/7 dman is the exact opposite of what the coach says it's for, I become concerned with his ability to win us games.

Fistric plays a great game, something we've been lacking for a while.....and he's out. Hmmm I assume this is something of a last chance for Potter, or we are shopping him around and want to showcase him or Whitney. Either way Fistric at some point needs to be a consistent starter, for now it's ok but if this carries on it's probably not.

With Landeskog out, I think Edmonton can win this one easily.

IF

they can stay DISCIPLINED!!!

DISCIPLINE DISCIPLINE DISCIPLINE

no more dumb penalties

Does it specifically say Fistric's out, or that Potter's back in?

Because it could be Whitney that's coming out otherwise...

Is Potter going to be on the PP at least? What's the point of putting him in the lineup when they're not even going to use him in the situation he's best in?

Too bad I can't say the same about Whitney. He's useless everywhere.

Yeah.

Tencer(iirc) tweeted that Krueger said Fistric sitting wasn't indicative of his play.

He's been useless for a long time now. Which is disappointing, because if we got even 70% of Whitney once was we'd be in a much better position. I'm sure he's got some witty remarks on twitter ready when Edmonton lets him go though.

I'm not going to predict a win, I just want to see a disciplined first period, and for Hemsky to get his ass out of his head. I'm a fan, but maybe playing in Czech league made him continue his bad habits that worked over there.

How about the 62 games Potter played for us last season? That should have been enough to drive home the point that Potter isn't an NHL d-man. The only person in the world that thinks he is is Tom Renney.
