Poni for Tangradi and a 4th. No complaints from me.
I really wish he could have been a good addition for us.

Chevy has been good with trades IMO, except for Eric Fehr and maybe Akim Aliu.

He wasn't , Chevy knew it , moved on it and turned today into an advantage for the organization. May be slight but may be more.

Wait just a minute, didn't Gillis say another team had to make some moves before acquiring Luongo?

Didn't Montoya just get hurt?

I'll lose Poni for a legit goalie but no way is moving Poni pre-deadline for a 4th and Tangi any good

You mos understand me. I wish that he had worked out and played well here. Most times he seemed like the weak link on that third line.

I hope he has better luck in NJ.

I think there is another move in the works in the goaltending department. I doubt it's Lu, but maybe something else.

So your good and warm now right. Puke's pretty warm, not to mention that you feel feverish and sweaty after!

Hurray! Jets on board!

I would take it a step further from Chevy trading Poni for Tangradi and a 4th to Chevy manufacturing Tangradi and a 4th out of nothing. Chevy just traded a non-core piece who he had just signed for 1 year out of UFA (i.e. he was a "free" asset).

It seems inconsequential in the grand scheme, but this is how smart GMs increase their asset base IMO. Keep chipping away Chevy.

With Karlsson needing surgery does anyone else think the Sens would take a look at Postma?

Is it confirmed that it is his achilles tendon?

Actually that makes a lot of sense. Maybe a Postma + for Bishop or Lehner? They have an extra goalie. Either one of those guys could end up being very good.

Karlsson provides a hell of a lot of offense from the backend that the Sens are going to miss, Postma is an offensive specialist (nowhere near the calibre of Karlsson obviously) so I think there's a good fit there.

I don't know the Sens roster all too well but I'm sure there's a deal to be made there and one that Chevy needs to take advantage of.

Absolutely no reason to add to Postma for Bishop. Hell OTT might have to add then.

But it would be a big + to Postma for Lehner. That's their goalie of the future.

I don't think we'd be getting Lehner without a substantial + to Postma. What I would be interested in is a young scoring forward from the Sens. They seem to be loaded up with a lot of juicy prospects.

I'd certainly be open to adding Bishop and seeing if he can push Pavelec for the #1 spot. When the Sens traded for him a year ago i believe he was rated and viewed as the top goalie in the AHL and knocking on the door for an NHL job. Perhaps he never makes it, but i think with how poorly Pavelec has played it wouldn't hurt to have someone with the potential knocking on Pavelec's door.

I'd feel a bit for Montoya, though. I doubt Chevy makes any goaltending moves as i think he will want to give Montoya more of an opportunity, depending on how long he is injured for, of course.

I honestly have really soured on Pavelec. I don't like his off season antics, but I forgave him... everyone makes mistakes. His atrocious goaltending in Europe concerned me but I figured he was just not inspired playing a lower level. Then he comes to North America and he is certainly not in the kind of shape the Jets want him to be in. I saw him face to face and he is CHUBBY. A big athletic goalie needs to be lanky and fast.

All of that said, I was willing to give him a pass if he performed. He has played well for 60 minutes maybe twice this year. I thought this was the year he needed to prove his worth. I fear that we made a big mistake by signing him to that contract.

I am very open to the idea of exploring possible replacements for him. Of course Pavelec could change my mind but he will have to play at a consistent high level for more than a few games at a time for me to have faith in him as a starter again. He may end up being a highly overpaid backup for us.
