I'm not going to be surprised to see Vokoun get back-to-back starts this week in an act "shaking things up" since the team isn't likely to do anything of note otherwise.
Can't call up Bennett cause he's hurt, won't lessen Kunitz's role cause he's got tenure, Bortuzzo only going to play if Lovejoy is injured and team will not trade for a good winger. Ugh, kind of depressing to think about.
Watching Strait play as well as he has, I feel kinda vindicated over my mild outrage of the Pens sacrificing him to start Despres in the NHL. He's been on Malkin and looks good.
I actually think Despres deserved to be here. Lovejoy on the other hand...
It's getting to the point that the Pens don't even deserve to have a player like Sid. They surround him with crap. They make no attempt to better the situation. Shero drafts a winger in Beau Bennett, and at the point that it looks like he might be ready to skate on Sid's wing, Shero says "**** it, I'm going to carry Ben Lovejoy on the roster."
And don't even get me started on Bylsma right now....
I can't stand when people blame this team's roster for their lack of effort. It's such a ******** excuse. Geno was dominating with Fedotenko and Talbot. Crosby was killing it w/ Billy G and Kunitz. Come the hell on, people.
This is all piss-poor effort. This team is playing with ZERO heart. That's all it is. A pumped up AHL team with desperation could beat the Pens. We don't win battles.. **** we don't even battle to begin with.
are you kidding? of course they did. Staal >> Sutter (which is why the 'Canes included a top 10 pick and a mediocre prospect) and Michalek >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the garbage they got for him.
Shero had no choice in this matter. It's not like he went out looking to make a Staal/Sutter swap. Staal wanted out. It was either lose him and get Sutter/pick/prospect or lose him for nothing in the offseason.

I think its amazing hes on the number 1 pairing but he could not get into top 6 on pens team, what a joke, they should of let go ben nojoy
Pittsburgh trades... Dan Byslma to Phoenix for Dave Tippett and a 10th round pick in the 1973 draft.

All of them are going through the motions tonight. I know what I think that means, although some still may disagree.
No offense, but the outrage should be at the decision to keep Lovejoy on the roster.
IMO, Pens two best defensemen tonight are Despres and Strait . . . oops, my bad.
Yep...
Despres staying up doesn't bother me one bit, as long as he's playing.
Ben Lovejoy being allowed to wear a Penguins jersey, never mind play, is what deserves the derision.
I'd love to see if we made the right choice keeping Bort over Strait...but ol' Danny Boy will never let him into the damn line-up.

The Sun is beginning to set on the Dan Bylsma era in Pittsburgh. Derek Engelland? Joe Vitale?? Ben Lovejoy?? and fans are asking what's happening???
But then we're going to get more of the same garbage with Granato, Hynes or Reirden.
If they fire Bylsma, I want Ron Francis as the next head coach. But I highly doubt Disco Dan gets shown the door. And if he does, Shero will promote from within.
You're in Canada though so it's not fair. If I remember correctly, all the beer up there is already souped up.
You're in the USA. We probably have the best selection of beer in the world to choose from, at least one of the best. Tons of great domestic craft beer, imports from all over the world.

Bingo.
No one is hitting or anything. Someone needs to get in there after the whistle and stir some crap up. Start punching guys. Anything to get them going...

I'm thinking watching this that probably half the GM's in the league would pull the trigger tonight. Ray Shero isn't one of them.

that does NOTHING to contradict my statement. i'm actually glad they did the trade under their circumstances.
the fact is there's a reason why the Hurricanes added to Sutter, the main roster piece of the deal. it's because Staal >> Sutter. defensively, they're about the same. offensively, Staal is in another world.

Meh I really don't get to into imports. I like them, but I also like the cheaper stuff too. My pallet doesn't discriminate.
