Is there any fanbase that's happy with their coaching?

Canucks are dealing with many injuries (Kesler, Bieska, Manny) and aren't winning either.

That explains why most Nucks fans are turning on AV but honestly it's been 6(?) seasons with AV at the helm, it might just be time for a change (ala Quenville and Chicago).

The roster will make the playoffs but I'm not sure AV is the right coach to lead them back to the Cup finals, this roster isn't the same after Ehrhoff left.

Capuano doesn't know how/when to pull the goalie.

This.

AV is horrible. These coaches you guys are listing are coaching bad teams. Oilers are bad, Avalanche still a few years away, Islanders bad.

Look at what AV has to work with and look at the results he's pulled out.

Alain has 0 goals, and 0 assists on the year, so yea he's probably tied for last in the league...

Seriously, he's taken the team to the Finals, within a game of winning it all, and was and still continues to be viewed as a satisfactory coach by people far more educated about the game of hockey then some idiots typing from mom and dad's house.

I loathed Claude Julien, I love him now. Winning cures a lot of ills.

Think of how many times Luongo has given up 7 or 8 goals?

Thats on AV for never pulling him.

AV is actually a good coach and will find success wherever he goes next but his time in Vancouver has run out. He's just making dumb decisions and the players seemed to have tuned him out completely.

This assumes he's actually talked to them this season. Excuse me if I'm not convinced that he has.

When a reported asked him if Gagne was having a tough time with his current role, Sutter said something like "He'd better get used to it or he'll have another one."). Maybe the Canucks need a more player friendly coach to take over like Dallas Eakins.
This would be the only logical reason for changing the Canucks coach.

Anyone that tries to insist he's a terrible coach has no idea what Vigneault has accomplished throughout his career and what he has done for Vancouver. He didn't suddenly become an awful coach; he has progressively become one of the best coaches in the NHL.

So does the guy in your avatar.

I don't think AV is the worst coach in the league, but it sure seems to my (admittedly poorly informed) view that he's lost the players and whatever he's trying to do has stopped working. Seems like a shake-up would benefit the team, but not sure if this is the time to do it.

A great deal of the anger directed at Vignault should be sent to Gillis. How can a coach be blamed for anything given the sitch at center? Furthermore, Vignault does not run the defense.

Gillis signed Vignault to a three year extension this last offseason, arguably his biggest signing. Does this clarify things?

Vignault has earned a lot of criticism but is not a bad coach. A better question is why a smart coach sticks with a zany franchise? Does anybody think he was consulted when Aquilini signed Lu forever and ever, amen? No, he just has to live with it and do the best he can with what he is given. Sucks, but he wears it for a lot of people's mistakes.

Yeah, top 3-5.

Atleast while still behind the bench of our team.

Canucks need to learn to be physical and be more of a grinding team. They have small size which doesn't cut it at all in the west, especially with injuries. Canucks would be good in the east but the west is too physical and their team needs to adjust to physicality and they'd be fine. They need to make some good trades.

No, that's not at all what they need to do.
