I think theres certainly a case to be made for this. Although Im not too fussed as there will be some movement to rectify the money tied up in the D and the tending position.

Plus when you have 2 of your top 6 out. And Canucks had the least number of players playing during the lock out if Im not mistaken. It definitely shows and unsurprisingly our best players have been guys who have been skating. Wiess, Kass, Schroeder, Tanev.

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian
Booth - Kesler - Burrows
Hansen - Higgins - Raymond
Weise - Malhotra - Lapierre

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Garrison
Ballard - Tanev

Schneider
Luongo

And that's without any return from a potential Luongo deal.

Wow you seem to know a lot about winning hockey games. I guess that's why you're here and not coaching the Canucks.

I dont get your point.

The trophy isnt something people try to win as its not elimination. Its something that is given to the team with the most points.

The #1 seed in the playoffs has won the cup more often than any other team in history.
Of course it's not bad, however LA Kings has shown us as long as you get into the playoffs, anything can happen.

Yes. If only the Canucks had not won so many games, they'd have won more games. It all makes sense now.

The LA Kings haven't shown us anything other than "there's a first for everything."

I'd much rather emulate the most successful cup champions in the past = #1 seeds.

Whats idiotic is people think Kesler and Sedins would be cool with "resting". Which team does that though? I cant remember unless there is an injury etc.

the point is winning the president trophy is pointless because anything can happen as long as your team is in the playoffs, just ask LA kings last year. I don't think the winning the trophy is something worthy of bragging, just ask the 2001 st louis team or the 2003 ottawa team.

I see a team with 2-3 great forwards(depending on how kesler plays) an emerging young PF, injury prone booth, and Burrows, just decent and worse players after. on defense like i said a bunch of 2nd pairing defensemen, edler needs to find his game

Which is not what you were saying earlier.

Again no one sets out to win the PT. Its a by product of points. Points that you get by winning games.

Never the less the PT is still an accomplishment. As worthy as the SC? Nope.

Again I dont get what your point is. Im guessing your dont either.

Yea, anything can happen, like the President Trophy winners winning the cup.

Just ask the 02 & 08 Red Wings and the 01 Avs.

So once the Canucks reach the required number of points to reach the playoffs, they should bench the Sedins, Kesler, Schneider?

How about we ask Detroit, Colorado, Detroit again, Dallas, New York, Calgary, Edmonton, ect....?

I think you just ignores my point, my point is PT is not something you brag on. Do you realized that the canucks is in such a weak division last year? None of the team except the canucks actually made the post-season if i remembered correctly. AV should be fired ASAP, not only is he wasting our player's opportunity to win the cup, he is ruining our prospect pool by not treating them right, fire him before it's too late!

Excuse me if it's already been asked and answered (didn't read through every post) but why weren't the Sedins in the shootout?

It is an indication of how good a team was in a season.

Do you think a coach would rather finish 16th than 1st?

I doesn't mean everything, but I hate the "it means nothing" argument. It is an accomplishment just like the Hart or Vezina or Rocket Richard. None of those are the same as winning the cup, but do you think a player would rather not win them?

because they are terrible at shootout, just like they are terrible in the playoffs
