I remember when the Rangers board was saying he would usurp Lundqvist

That is such a fallacy. There were a few nut jobs who thought he would. Its the same few who are still wanting us to rebuild and trade Nash, Gaborik, Richards, Callahan & Lundqvist for as many first round picks as possible and ice what would amount to an AHL forward lineup.

The majority never even entertained the idea.

20 more games like this one and the Flyers will offer him an 8 year contract next summer...

This was also apparently the first NHL game of his that his parents were able to attend. His twin brother was there as well.

Just goes to show how talented even the "worst" goalies at the NHL level are.

Congrats to him...always liked him as a prospect. Mostly because he played for the UAF Nanooks when this gem was being used.

Announcers had a hard enough time with O'Reilly, O'Byrne and O'Brien on Colorado.

Al Montoya, also a former Ranger, recorded a shutout in his first NHL game, also with Phoenix.
