Why is McClement on the 2nd line and Kadri is still on the third?
Becasue they want to try out Kadri at center for the year, and he has been excellent there so far. Plus him and Frattin were great a couple nights ago. RC will distribute icetime based on which line is doing well. Kadri had 16 mins against the Islanders I believe.
The stats for the Leafs and Sabres in the OP are surprisingly identical. Will be interesting to see if Miller can hold the fort again.
If Kessel doesn't score one tonight, I think we should try him with Kadri next game. He basically needs a tap in/garbage goal to get going again. Often times when you get in a drought like this, you try way too hard to make things happen, and that's what Kessel seems to be doing right now.
Hoping for a win. Won't mind a loss (tank nation lol).
I pray to god we win so people here s t f u. I would ****ing LOL if we won these next 3 games. Not saying it's gonna happen, but it would just be funny. These threads would all disappear so quickly.
You guys need to realize that we at least have a smart coach who can recognize decision-making errors. Kadri only played 9 minutes in the first game, and Carlyle took full responsibility and said he should've gave him more. He called out JvR and Grabo and they've been good ever since. This past Saturday, he recognized his mistake of overplaying Phaneuf. He also moved JvR to the first line now. Most of the moves that Leaf fans have been wanting to see, he's been making. I think it's only a matter of time too before he brings Kostka down to 2nd/3rd pairing duty. The difference between him and Wilson is night and day.
People. Stop complaining about McClement on the second line.
Thus far, Grabovski's line has been matched against the opposition's top line in all five games. Regardless of whether or not you believe they have done well, it is Carlyle's decision to go with that match up.
Who makes more sense on a shutdown line, McClement or Kadri?

I think people don't realize the importance of a coach like RC. Coaches make mistakes when handling young players quite often. It's how you deal with your mistakes is what makes you a good coach for developing teams. RC was in Anahiem when Getz/Perry were being groomed and look what happend to their games under him.
If there is one coach in the entire league who can help get the max out of Kadri, IMO its the guy we have. He gives young players a vote of confidence if they deserve it, and continues to adjust their involvement based on their performance.
Communication is also a key for developing young players. With Wilson, that was non-existent. RC on the other hand seems to talk to his players all the time.
This is another Burke move which I think will payoff pretty well for us.

GO LEAFS GO!!
So you don't have to give more minutes to the line with lower number? Who'd thunk it?

McClemment and Kulemin have been the main PKers as well, so there might be some synergy there. They are 9th. on the road in PK. They were 6th. overall but other teams have moved up on them since the last game and they are now 12th. overall.

He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
