The Lounge"...Where the parking lot of the Igloo meets the concourse of the Nassau County Coliseum and the bathroom line of the Skyreach..." - Wickedbsfan
Our flights to Italy were also first class, on Delta. Dreading my next flight to Europe, as it certainly won't be first class, unless I win the lottery.
If you're just going from London to Toronto or NYC, I'd suck it up and sit coach. London to Toronto is "only" 6.5 hours. That's not too bad. Just get really drunk beforehand and pass out on the plane. You're better off buying passes to get into one of the airline lounges so you can relax in the airport, and have some free booze. The Delta Sky Lounge single day passes are only like $50.
If I go economy for long haul flights like that I try and get the seats at the back where there's only 1 on it's own. Get crappy food but hey ho. Don't usually eat the food anyway as it's rank.
And that was both leaving and returning on a random Wednesday in September... I don't know anything on the airline, but Google'd them, and everything about them is negative or about them downsizing. Not to mention the images of their planes look really average at best. I don't get it.
Is it really worth paying 2 grand just to avoid sitting next to a stranger though
sounds irrational to me
In my mind it's not just the stranger as well. It's because I need leg room and being honest. I want to try it just once as I've never been business class before. Also, it's a 7 hour flight so I like space.
If it was a 2 hour flight I'd happily sit in economy.
