no thanks. we'd rather just make a run at perry in the offseason i'd imagine.

unless you want to make a deal around voracek, then i don't see a deal to be made.

Im not as mean as other people on here but come on... this is bad. I realize couturier is over valued on here but this just does not make sense from a flyers point of view. Couturier is not being traded unless its crazy overpayment(Fowler+). Adding Schenn to this just makes it worse, i realize Bobby Ryan is a really good player but not at the cost of two of our younger assets.

Aging? Who? The only aging one is Timonen. Coburn, Grossmann, Schenn, Meszaros, Gervais are all under 30. The oldest one of those is 28 if I recall.

But outside that, I wouldn't accept the trade from a Philly pov. We really can't afford to lose a defensive player.

I can't see Philly opting to lose a defenseman at this point.

I also wouldn't go for it from our standpoint.

I think a deal for Ryan involving Voracek would make a lot of sense for both teams

Well, only if they're interested in moving Ryan of course. And obviously a straight up swap isn't gonna happen.

Bad for Philly. Not necessarily the value but the principle. They lack quality defenseman. There is no need for them to trade more defense for more offense.

Also I laugh when you say if Ryan keeps struggling. So lets say he does... Why would other teams be inclined to trade for him? lol

Bad proposal all the way around. Value might be okay but not good on principle.

EDIT: Also the Ducks already have a logjam of quality defenseman. Unless they are receiving a definite upgrade another defenseman is not needed!

I think you have it backwards. Couturier + for Fowler and i'm pretty certain the Ducks want no part of giving up Fowler anytime soon.

That's the point. The Flyers aren't keen to move Couturier either. That's why he asked for an admitted overpayment.

Classic hfboards.

You, other team, give me way more than market value for Player X.

Sound fair?"

Really not that tough to follow - Couturier's defensive presence on a team that doesn't defend all that well is more then what it would be for the average team.

How about Sbisa for Couturier?

edit: Either side could add a small + if you feel it's a bit unbalanced.

Anyhow, Ducks could use a center and with Schenn brothers united, Brayden isn't going anywhere so Couturier would be ideal. Philly needs some young defenders and Sbisa has the potential to be a top 4 defenceman, he just needs to get his stuff together. He could learn a thing or two from Timonen. Sbisa and Schenn could be a great pair in few years. For Ducks, having Getzlaf-Couturier-Holland in the middle would solve some center issues, while Koivu still has some game left in him and there's a guy like Bonino and prospects such as Rakell and Karlsson.

If Couturier is being moved, Fowler would have to be the target, not Sbisa. Which Anaheim wouldn't do. Flyers should only move Couturier if a young top-pairing guy is available. Sbisa is great, but is not a top-pairing guy right now.

I don't want the Flyers to trade for Ryan simply because I think he'll just sign with us for free if he reaches UFA in 2 years

a struggling ryan brings more to the table then any of the mentioned offers, we will gladly hold onto him.

I doubt Anaheim moves Ryan. With the chance that Perry leaves in the offseason and Selanne likely retiring (although we've heard that before), Ryan would be their only top-six winger who isn't a rookie this year.
