Yeah, let's make that quick. Not nearly enough value going to Florida. Many other teams would beat that offer - and even if they did not, at that price, they'd would probably just keep him around. There's no incentive for them with those assets to move their best center, even if he'll just leave after the year.

Even as a Ducks fan I can see why Florida wants no part of that. They can get a 1st easily for Weiss and then probably some. Doubt they'd be impressed by Maroon and Bonino + 2nd. Both aren't good prospects, they are depth players at best.

Any offer would have to start with a 1st and I don't see the Ducks giving up theirs.

Ya Florida would not be tempted by this in the least. If we really wanted him it would ATLEAST cost a first or 1 of Holland/Palmieri/Etem. Alot of teams will be bidding for him. We wouldnt be able to give him 5.5 a year either so there is no reason for this since it will be a pure rental.

Bonino and Maroon are incredible overrated by Ducks fans, there I said it. People have high hopes for these 'prospects', even though both will be 25 in just a couple of months.

I don't think they actually are overrated by most. Maroon recently cleared waivers. Okay, maybe he was a bit overrated as there was some expectation of him to be claimed (which is very common for most fanbases), but in general, I don't think people forget that these guys are very marginal in league-wide appeal - hence the outspoken and unanimous reactions in this thread.

ummm... Weiss does NOT want out of Fla, not sure where you heard that "rumor". He has made it crystal clear that he wants to remain a Panther, he just stated that he does not want the contract part of hockey to interfered with hockey itself. He said that it gets overwhelming and he doesn't want to lose focus on playing the game and helping the team become even more successful than last season.
He'll be a Panther for life!

Id rather make a play for Ror, hell cheaper to get and would be a great 1-2 punch down the middle with getz(pending signing) and him.

Why jump from one extreme to another? We're in no position to trade those assets for an upcoming UFA.

Only way we give up our first is if ROR is coming back.

Weiss has said repeatedly he wants to remain and retire as a Florida Panther. The only question on his return is whether Florida feels he is worth the money he could get as a UFA, and if not, how much less will Weiss take to remain a Panther. As far as a potential Weiss trade remember this, Weiss has a complete NTC and it is doubtful he would waive it even if Tallon decides he can't afford to re-sign Weiss and sought to trade Weiss.
