Is Scoring Up This Year?

I haven't run the numbers in any scientific way but the scoring leaders look like they're off to a pretty quick start this year statistically. Has anyone been keeping track of this more rigorously to be able to say either way?

Nope, not really. http://dropyourgloves.com/Stat/LeagueGoals.aspx This happens every year, it's the low sample size. Thornton and Co are going to slow down.

Individual players do not a league make.

5.67 GPG, up 0.2 GPG from last year. Not a whole lot, almost the exact same it was in '09-'10 (5.68).

Pretty much no, although if I'm not mistaken teams are converting at a higher % on the PP than in past years at the same time (5-6 games into the season). Also more penalties being called.
