Haha I know, it was more an angry comment about the 96 bus route

Oh man, I haven't taken the bus in a long time... Does the 96 still go into bayshore and get off at every exit along the highway? I used to hate taking that route, I'd almost rather take the 118 to Baseline and then catch the 95...

It stops everwhere.

From Stittsville it takes me probably an hour and a bit to make it to the Rideau Centre. Driving nowadays without traffic can probably get me there in 25 minutes.

Festival Map for Escapade Music Festival has been released.

Looks like a great setup with fireworks on the Ottawa River at night.

Anyone know if the Bluesfest kiosk at Rideau Centre keeps regular mall hours, or is it open for shorter time during the day?

Roll call...

Who else is going to see Black Keys tonight? Looks like rain again, hope the festival site isn't a big muddy mess.

That's the plan.

Hoping the rain is over by the time The Split kicks things off.

Wooo! Bluesfest is here! Finally (hopefully) get to see the Black Keys!

Left the festival last time they were here, thinking it would get cancelled.

Booked off tomorrow and Monday, gonna be a good night!

Not to rub it in, but they are great live. As I'm sure you've see via videos on YouTube and such, they are extremely tight live and Jim Adkins' voice holds up for the whole show. They don't engage the fans like, say, Green Day does, but sonically they are impressive.

Way off track from Bluesfest, but its been announced that Lou Gramm is playing the Navan Fair on August 9th. I can't remember the last time a non-Canadian act played Navan Fair. Gramm's show is basically a Foreigner show.

Ditto. Have been kicking myself ever since.

Hopefully the rain holds up and I get to see them play. I'm almost more excited for Jimmy Eat World though.

Almost forget they're trying the completely smoke-free thing this year. Interested to see being policed.

I'm going to guess cigarette smokers are going to get hassled more than weed smokers

LOL.. Me too.. Jimmy Eat World will be great, they are one of those bands I didn't get to see in High School when they came out with Bleed American, so definitely excited to see them.

Will be a great night of music to open the festival!

So I've heard! There are a few acoustic versions of songs they did at KROQ radio on YouTube, and the studio was too small for the whole band so half played in one room and half in the other. I was so impressed at how they made it work despite that. A lot of people like to slam pop-punk like Jimmy Eat World because it tends to be sloppy and simple, but in this case Jim and the guys are so technically sound and it shows hey still have fun playing. That's so important after all these years.

Oof. I'd forgotten about that policy. I can't imagine it working too well, but it'll be interesting to see it play out.

It will work during the early shows, but once it gets dark and the headliners are on, good luck.

I can see a few fights getting started because of this...

Anyone going to Riot Fest in Toronto? It looks like they haven't announced the full lineup as its horribly worse than the Chicago and Denver ones.

I think the smoking thing is simply to satisfy the city by-laws. I would expect that we will see no smoking signs posted everywhere but very little enforcement, if any at all.

Beer prices are lowered for this year as well. I like this policy.

Yeah i have the feeling, they can't enforce it anyway. They don't own the land they are on..

Well, I don't think that is an issue for them. They are renting it so are responsible. How far they take that responsibility is a different matter.
