Simon Gagne

3.5 mln cap hit
UFA next season
Very fragile - missed half of the last season

Still, could be valuable for many teams come deadline time.

What would LA need to part ways with him now or close to deadline ?

I'd take him back in Philly for a playoff run if the price was right.

LA would definitely want to see how he handles this year before dealing him, as he seems to be playing pretty darn well with Richards and Carter. It is hard to gauge his value, as he is still a pretty skilled and fast player, but has a head made of glass that could be wiped out with any given hard hit. It would depend on how durable he turns out to be this year and what he can do with Carter and Richards now that his line is starting to heat up a bit.

LA is a contender and wouldn't be looking for futures. I think they would rather hang onto him, even if he didn't perform well, as insurance. We would rather have him on the team through the end of the year and lose him to free agency than deal him for a pick. We would be looking for a player in return.

Has Clifford not been on a line this year with Richards and Carter?

Sutter was messing with the lines, and also rewarding Clifford for his hot start, but Gagne was re-united with Richards and Carter last night and assisted on Carter's goal. Either way, he is performing and doing so better than Penner.

Sincerely, I would really like him with the Habs. I just really like Gagné.

Thing is, I don't know what LA wants, and if MTL has it.

Thought Gagne got something removed from his neck that many speculated was the cause of some of his recent injury issues? If so and he can stay healthy I would love him back in Philly. Would never happen though as this is a deep draft an the flyers prospect pool sucks enough as it is to make a move for him. I'd be willing to give him a short term deal this off-season if he stays healthy but I'd imagine he'd want to stay with Richie and Carter.

Yep, that's why Kings fans are eager to see what he can do this year. Gagne claims he feels the best he's felt in years.

If last night was any indication, then I think we have a lot to look forward to.

If Penner would have started the season well then I can see a possibility of Gagne getting moved. Gagne is starting to look better. He showed some great speed last night bouncing between the 2nd and 4th lines and has an assist in each of the past two games. Nobody would offer enough to DL that he'd be willing to part with Gagne since scoring is still an issue in LA.

Who cares what Kings fans want? The bottom line is that the Early-Mid 2000s Flyers reunion is happening. We already have Fedotenko and Knuble, now all we need is Gagne. Then Lindros is going to come out of retirement. This is happening. Do you dare to stand in Paul Holmgren's way? If you do, he will throw multiple draft picks at you. It's the only way he knows, throwing draft picks away on veterans with expiring contracts.

But seriously, Simon Gagne will be ours.

Henrik Tallinder and call it a day.

Both contracts are a wash but Hank has a extra year. I think the Kings are looking to add depth on their blueline and the Devils are looking to add depth up front and move a D so that Larsson can enter our lineup instead of eating popcorn in Lou's suite.

sorry dude, not sure Gagne has enough offensive skill to replace Tanner Glass on the fircond line. Gagne would be in the 4th-line rotation with Craig Adams.

Always wanted to see Gagne in a Pens uniform, been one of my favorite players for a long time even when he was skating in orange I just couldn't bring myself to not like him.

Keep dreaming. As soon as we promote Giroux from our farm team, LA will be unstoppable.

I want him back in Philadelphia. I think he'd look great next to Couturier - defensively responsible with offensive upside.

Would a simple second round pick for Gagne swap do the trick?

We'd need to send contracts back their way.

2nd + Walker + maybe something else for Gagne.

what would it take from a Sens point of view? Think he'd look great on a line with Spezza and Michalek

Oh man I've wanted him in Boston for a while now. Not sure we could swing a deal though. What do you guys think?

Maybe Detroit could use him? Especially nice on the PP. I will admit to not knowing Detroit's needs though. Probably D, but more scoring can't hurt.

EDIT: Then again, Detroit would have to give something of value if the Kings are looking to deal before he becomes a UFA. Wings don't really have anything to give up right now, do they?
