Grabovski appreciation thread

I'm surprised no one has made one yet or given a shout-out to Grabo.

Yes, he was arguably disappointing this regular season but he's trying in this post-season and getting banged around. He's getting knocked down but still gets up and chugs along.

Is he getting into the Bruins' heads yet?? He gets elbowed in the head by Ference but he gets up. He's knocked down a few times by Lucic (a hard hitter) but he gets back up and skates hard.

He's shown some good rushes. Just needs to finish and some good luck. But, he seems to be trying hard.

I think he deserves an appreciate thread more than Phaneuf.

Besides Reimer and Gardiner, I think he's been considerable impressive for his intangibles - his ability to bounce back after big hits and the monster efforts! He should be rewarded for his resilience and effort - hopefully, he'll get a goal soon!

Comments?!?

1 goal in 20 or 21 games. Bad puck luck or he forgot how to finish. Chugging along though, at least and showing heart.

Watch too now the guys that continually talk about intangibles now use stats to undermine the WARRIOR.

Carlyle is a cup winning genius too, right?

Surely more knowledgeable than Ron Wilson

Grabo led forwards in even strength minutes last night. I might get a Carlyle avatar like others, he is brilliant !

Both he and Kulemin deserve quite a bit of praise for their play come playoffs imo. It's a shame they can't finish but they've both been all heart.

Grabo has been all over the ice this series - he may not have the finish, but you can't say the effort hasn't been there every night throughout the 5 games.

He seems to elevate his play against Boston, and however they bang him around (he is getting absolutely killed out there), he's like a pinball and keeps going.

I'm hoping for a GWG from him tomorrow night, so people can finally get off his back.

People were ready to deal off Kulemin at last year's draft, for Washington's picks, because his 7 goals just weren't cutting it, and it was time to move on. Boy, his defensive play and effort sure made some faces red.

Grabovski is starting the resurgence, by setting an example for his teammates, of how not to quit, despite struggling to score, how to persevere, and battle hard, in the face of criticism from all angles.

But Randy, well, Randy doesn't downplay his importance. He rewards, and fosters it, by providing him the minutes he's earned through his warrior play this series.

He's played with the heart of a lion, and his line has taken over the game on numerous occasions.

Here's to another gutsy effort Sunday, and hopes that he breaks through on the scoresheet.

Nobody deserves it more.

Paying the price but -6 and 1 goal in 21 games, only 1 assist this series.

Trying but we aren't paying a guy 5.5 for this, needs to produce or atleast not hurt us 1e.-6

Agreed. In a way, like Kessel was snake-bit for so long at the beginning of the season and how he went so many games without a goal. Maybe he just needs one to go in or to finish on a good play.

He's definitely skilled enough but not sure what happened this season. The hard work in the playoffs should pay off. Hopefully, it does in game six.

He's been working his butt off out there. It's crazy how he just keeps getting up after getting destroyed so many times Sucks that he isn't producing, but the effort is there.

From yesterday's beauty post. Someone did this, and to them, we

"I really didn't want to put the time in to do this, but here we go. Grabovski's terrible mistakes leading to a -5 rating:

Minus #1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvc2iX-4R54
Grabovski is the last player coming over the boards as the Bruins score. Totally should have had it.

Minus #2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ-e-oh8I1U
Slapped in from the blue line off of the rush after a turn over. Where was he to block that shot?

Minus#3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp0psCE7VUU
Another turn over and again, why wasn't he there to block that shot?

Minus#4:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkQAGJYiqzU
Don't let the bruins dance through two of your defenseman, get in there Grabovski, geez!

Minus#5:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJUPvI2pLWQ
Grabovski couldn't beat a Bruin to the rebound and leaves his goaltender out to dry. Terrible.

Minus #6:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxK-iBJZrDs
The first one in this video is the only one that Grabovski is on the ice for. Should have impeded him better. Sticks aren't the only part of the body that can score."

Just in case it got lost in the closed thread. Exactly why using +/- (an antiquated, joke of a stat) can make even the most common, ordinary joes, look foolish. Hard to ignore reality. The guy has been one of our best. His aid in changing momentum, and driving possession has been invaluable to this team's success.

Their hard work is making their teammates want to show up and work hard as well. Even though the points aren't there, they are inspiring and leading others by example. We need to give 100% every shift!

And the minus last night to add to the -6 this series, that led to Chara's goal. Grabo with a weak clear on Seidenburg. That's #84

It's those efforts, that extra jam, and getting back up after getting hammered, just to get the puck deep, that force game 7's.

Here's to one more outta 84, and hopefully a goal as a reward for doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

Regarding lack of production from Grabs despite the heart and gritty play....no worries as long as the chances keep coming. Just remember the dry spell that Kessel had at the beginning of the season...not worried there either because the chances were there too. Carlyle would not play a player that does not deserve to be played.

Unfortunately the points aren't showing up and his +/- isn't that great, but his effort level is definitely better and he's been a machine (as in nothing can hurt him haha) on the ice. Overall I've been content with Grabo these playoffs.

Grabovski reminds me of Mike Myers(halloween) or Jason(Friday the 13th). U try and eliminate him, hit him hard over and over again, and he rises back up and wants more and more and more.

Grabo is inspiring to watch. The inconsistency during the season and the contract is still worrisome. U cant judge him solely based on the 5 playoff games recently as the sample size. He has been very very good though. Grabovski has passion and heart, I want him to score very badly, he deserves it.

In the very least, these are inspired performances to build on for next year, when he'll be forced to play like this on a more consistant basis.

Keep JVR-Grabo-Kule together. It's proven to draw attention, and dictate the pace.

LMFAO, no mention of Gunnerson playing around with the puck behind the net instead of clearing it? If Gunnerson clears it then everyone gets to change and no one is tired and there is no goal to be scored. Nice try broski.
