He had a 0.980 save % tonight while facing 50 shots

Hes been a huge reason why we are in the playoffs (**** yes!), and has always gave us a chance to win every game.

He's still one of the youngest starters in the league and it'll be interesting to see how he does in the playoffs

Zeke, why don't you pull out those Reimer stats again throughout his career from juniors to now? Specifically his save percentage. You were spot on that he's as good, if not better than Bernier, which many were hyping over. And at this point, Reimer is better than Bernier.

When you really think about it, he's always been the same goalie since he entered the league.

The first season when he put himself on the map, and took the team on his back is in-line with his current play. Then the first 5 games of last season he was again, a stud. Then came the injury. After returning from injury he played horrible, but Wilson compounded the issue by not giving him consistent starts to find his 'mojo' again.

This season, the same thing could have happened. The 5 games after returning from his knee injury he was again brutal. But Carlyle stuck with him and let him find his groove, now look at him.

a lot of hockey folks think too highly of "lucky performances"
for many players and goalies

i thought i saw the real deal back on his first nhl season 10-11
and ive stuck with him since

Reimer is the real deal...
sure he isn't the best goalie in the League
but he plays well enough to get Toronto

to the PLAYOFFS

Ill be honest here, I admit when I'm wrong. I've bragged a bit about supporting Nazem since day 1 but I was wrong here. Even when he was a rookie I wasn't a big fan. There was something about him I didn't like.

This year he has looked unbelievable at times. Very few nights off. 926 save percentage, third place has 927. 18-6-5. If he didnt get hurt he might even get Vezina consideration but his GAA hurts that a bit. Rask and Bobrovski are the easy choices for 1-2 IMO. Not sure who would be third.

The number of times I had to post the ages of the Leafs goaltenders here as everyone was giving up on Reimer and talking about older goaltenders as the "better" options.

Gustavsson, Rynnas, Scrivens all older than Reimer, but they were the future and Reimer was just not good enough.

Shiny new toys aren't always better, sometimes they are just new.

Bobrovski, Niemi, Rask and Lundqvist would be ahead, but not many other Id chose above Reimer.

GAA can actually work in his favour however. The fact that he has more GA/G despite having similar save% means he was face with a lot more shots than the other goalies in consideration.

SA/G

Reimer 30.4
Niemi 28.6
Bobrovski 28.5
Rask 27.5
Lundvist 28.3

Same. I've always wanted to see him succeed with the Leafs. He has heart, determination and the will power to succeed here.

That big smile is also contagious. I don't know how anyone can dislike Reimer. One of the most humble pro player in the NHL.

Simply the most underrated goaltender in the league. He has never done anything to prove he won't be a franchise goaltender.

Me and you both. Feels good to have Reimer prove all the Luongo supporters wrong.
