Well I made FA offers assuming it wasn't going through (some people already expressed they would veto it and NYR shopped Richards later that night) so you can probably avoid the hassle of reviewing and just void it.

Confirmed. Couldn't risk being out bid for Moore.

edit: and before you even ask Chuck, CBJ is aware Klim doesnt jump like he did before the roster update and that it is Markus (not Mikael) Granlund.

I'm confused about these rights, things. This is just the right to match the offers currently being presented to these players?

It's going to be tricky.

I'm not sure if people understand the "rights" concept in NHL13, but now that these guys have hit July 1, anyone can offer those two players a contract (Olver, Moore).

For example, I have offer sheeted Olver for 6m, so if their "rights" to be retained have been traded, this means that Colorado will have to inform Anaheim that they have to match that 6m.

If Anaheim refuses to match @ 6m, I guess this means that Anaheim will be trading that entire package for a 7th round pick from Colorado? If Anaheim DOES match that 6m, Colorado will "match" then send Olver for that package when he is retained for that salary.

But this means we will have to put the next advance on hold until Colorado and Anaheim have that discussion whether or not Anaheim wants to match.

Anaheim would get the RFA compensation from you for Olver.

Yeah, sorry I missed that! lol

It makes sense, but it'll hold up this window until each team with the rights can confirm whether or not they WILL match what is being offered.

The team with the actual rights cannot see what is being offered, they'll have to be told by the original team what the "offer sheets" are.

You are making it way more complicated than it is. In a different league I traded for the rights of a player who had offer sheets. When the league advances the trade will go througj first, then the offer sheet. So in this case, Anaheim will have the rights to olver,, if olver accepts said offer sheet, Anaheim will have the option to match it. Im pretty sure people who are trading understand what rights mean. They simply want to make sure they get the player they want, in anaheims case maybe he wanted to make an offer for olver but needed to clear space. He moved like 4 plus million in that move. Now he has cap to match any offer sheet

Much better than the 2nd or 3rd rounder his compensation would have been on an offer sheet. Seems like a solid move for both parties... See I think people understand how rights work

A. I wil match that, would not have traded that package if I wasnt willing to match something the neighborhood of his asking price.

B. Even if I didnt I would get your first 3 picks next draft, not colorados 7th, dont even know where you got that from

Wasn't sure if the EA system was smart enough to sync these two moves! (In terms of Anaheim getting the compensation)

But this is refreshing to hear, so as you stated, it shouldn't be nearly as complicated!

Good to know!

This does count towards a ROSTER trade for both teams.

No problem. If it doesn't go through as it should, I should have the space to match an offer and then we can just resubmit next block with him signed already.
