Rangers/Blues

Rangers get:

D Kevin Shattenkirk (grew up a Rangers fan and knows the Maloneys well)
G Nik Lundstrom

Blues get:

D Michael Del Zotto
C JT Miller
D Stu Bickel

I'd rather keep Shattenkirk on the Blues.

This doesn't make sense for either team.

Shattenkirk boosts the anemic Rangers PP, as well as being a cornerstone along with McDonagh for years to come.

Blues get a top young defenseman and a great prospect.

Don't see the point in it for the blues. Why mess with what's working (Shattenkirk) just for the chance to swap Miller for Lundstrum?

The current hole on our left is something you might twist your ankle in. After this trade the hole on our right side of the defense would be something that you can't get out of.

This is an attempt to kick Armstrong in the gonads. No.

If sather pulled robbery like this off I might have to become a ranger fan. This is pretty bad.

This isnt me bashing rangers players, its just a testament that shows how highly I think of Shatty. Hes already one of the best offensive defensemen in the league..

If Shattenkirk is headed to New York, then MacD is coming to St. Louis.

The OP is clear in that it attempts to show balance.

Blues reservations aside, I'm not sure Rangers are not better off w/2 skaters now in stead of 1 skater + 1G.

We do need to look into long term backup because of age, and short term cap reality may mean Biron is a luxury we can't afford much longer. However, this is not an immediate problem we need to address.

So 2 skaters > 1

Gaborik for Shattenkirk, straight up. What do Blues fans think?

Or if you're feeling adventurous, put Richards in there instead of Gabby

Shattenkirk is going nowhere. HF needs to stop with this nonsense.

I'd pass as a Blues fan. Miller is a good prospect, but not good enough to justify opening a massive hole on the back end.

I feel like this is pretty lop-sided for the Blues. I understand how good Shatty is but JT has huge upside and MDZ is probably #2 d-man on NYR's roster...

Not a Rangers/Blues fan but just my opinion

Shattenkirk seemingly the new flavor of the week on the trade forum.

Not interested in trading him. If I was going to entertain trading him to New York, I would want Ryan McDonagh, who I absolutely love. Since that won't be an option for Ranger fans I assume, I'll just move along.

As for Shattenkirk for Gaborik, I say no.

Shattenkirk for Richards would give me pause but the right side of the defense is so bad after Petro, Shatty, and Polak, I probably would say no to that too just because of the lack of depth.

I guess if I was trying to make a deal with the Rangers that would send Shattenkirk to New York, it would look something like this:

Ryan McDonagh
depth RD (maybe Stu Bickel?)

Kevin Shattenkirk
Another piece that someone would have to help me fill in here.

Regardless i'm assuming it's a non-starter talking about McDonagh so that's that.

I'm sad to say this but nothing can boost our PP, it's atrocious. The problem is Sullivan, not the players.

Dont think so. I think Shatty is a better defensemen than McD. Its about what your team needs though, neither team would have to add much in a 1 for 1.

I'll take one Patrik Berglund.
