Yeah, I'm thinking that Columbus isn't super hot on that.

No. Do not want Jack Johnson. I'd rather keep Edmonton's D as is rather than trade for him. Not a good defenceman.

Hmmmmm.....

No.

Oh wait, Johansen is involved? Let's see here...I don't see the name "Jordan Eberle" anywhere else on this thread.

Complain all you want, Jackets fans. Oil fans don't do this either.

Hartikainen is going to be a good bottom 6 forward for years to come with the grit our team needs now, while Yakupov has huge upside.

Columbus won't do this. D would be brutal without JJ. Not giving up on RyJo yet. Harti has potential but may not pan out. Not worth it.

Columbus definitely doesn't do it, Edmonton probably doesn't either. I like Johnson and Johansen BUT, for Yakupov I'd want something a little more of a sure thing than Johansen to go with Johnson. Not saying he's a bust or anything but his value is no where near it was around when he was drafted.

I think Yakupov's potential doesn't make this a horrible trade for Columbus but Johansen is a potential 1st liner and Johnson is a tremendous offensive d-man. I think the Jackets may want a better second player

Johansen isn't even close to Eberle. Not even a little

He isn't atm but if Johansen is going to EDM, someone like Eberle must be coming back. Otherwise CBJ will gladly keep Johansen.

Would rather build around a solid franchise center or solid franchise d-man. I'm not trying to deny Yakupov, he is a very skilled player. But there aren't a ton of teams that succeed without having strength down the middle or back end. Columbus especially, knows about this. Lining up Brassard against Thornton, Datsyuk, Toews, Benn, Sedin, Kopitar, Getzlaf etc what do you expect.

MacKinnon or Seth Jones with Jack Johnson + Johansen upside would be better.

Yeah but we don't want to do it worse.

I don't blame Jackets fans for passing, but suggesting Eberle is ridiculous. Johnson is a good offensive d-man for sure, but Johansen hasn't progressed nearly as well as projected and his value will reflect such. Not to mention that we aren't sure if your new GM even values him that highly.

Yeah, we need size & grit to add to our forward lines, so grabbing Ryan Johansen is a good move. Wait, what?

Could Nick Foligno be available? What would the price be?

Tremendous offensive dman... You had me laughing at that one. He's not producing much offense and pretty bad defensively, but Columbus won't trade him easily as he's now their best defenseman (which is laughable too). That said, it'd be stupid to give away a potential top forward that early for the Oilers

Yes Johansen is worth Eberle when back in 2010 both the Blue Jackets and Oilers valued Eberle moreand that gap has grown exponentially since.

Jackets fans may not like this, but it is the kind of deal that would be required to get Yakupov. From a Jackets standpoint I just Can't see why they would want another Russian though given their track record with them.

This thread is dead in it track from lack of interest from both parties IMO.

The Jackets are the most Russian team in the league now
