This Boychuck thing is getting beyond ridiculous now, if he actually ends up on the Checkers, it really will be a miracle

edit: Boychuk waived.
Why send Nash down? Because of Ruutu?

I would have loved to see a 3rd line of Ruutu-Nash-Wallace.

Yes, I know he's hurt.
Someone should correct the title to "Boychuk waived, waived, waived and waived again".

I think the Preds will claim him again since they can send him to their AHL affiliate without waivers.

Why don't they just let Nash and Boychuk both play? They can't be much worse than Jeff Skinner or most of the bottom six. Boychuk actually scored a goal 4 games ago, which is more than you can say about most of the roster.

It took Trotz two games to figure out what we couldn't in six years.

At least we look smart for waiving him in the first place, as opposed to the two teams that claimed him.

Honestly at this point, I don't even care if he gets to Charlotte or not. It might be better for him if he didn't. I know it would be better for me if he just went away.

Reassigned with out waivers.

Charlotte needs him for a couple key games with the short break Canes got, nothing to worry about.

Yeah. I changed the verb. And completely forgot about the break in schedule. He better be back though.

So now, Nashville can just claim him and stuff him in Milwaukee.

And why is Nash being sent down? Who will be our third line center? Jussi Jokinen?

These waiver rules don't make any sense. Since we are trying to send him to the AHL, why can Nashville supposedly claim him and send him straight to their AHL team? That doesn't make any sense to me. It's not really fair. If Nashville should claim him again, he should still have to clear waivers. Although he'll keep bouncing around at that rate.

Something should end that madness, just doesn't make sense that another team can claim him and send him straight down, when that is what we are trying to do.

Although you'd have to admit, it'd be a sweet way to pick up a few new hockey jerseys for one's collection.

JRs gong show continues.

I'm betting he was just as clueless about the waiver rules as most of us were until a beat writer or a beer guy on the concourse informed him.

Or maybe he recognizes that Charlotte is playing with 12 ECHLers (and Jared Staal) and was willing to chance Boychuk getting claimed so they can add some talent to the team.

I don't think Rutherford really cares that Charlotte will have to play Boychuk three times if Nashville claims him.

I don't think the system was designed for a situation like this. It's supposed to be more about giving players the maximum possible opportunity to find a place in the NHL. In this particular case, it bought Boychuk 2 more leases on life, so it worked properly. It's only now, with us having claimed him and STILL trying to stash him in the AHL, that it's leading to a bit of an unfair situation.

Realistically, this kind of thing won't happen very often.

JR is part of the 'old boys club' for NHL GM's. I don't anticipate Poile putting back in a claim and rustling feathers in the 'club'.
Eastern & Western Conference teams make great trading partners, so burning a bridge by putting back in a claim on Boychuk dosen't really seem worthwhile.... Just my 2 cents

Nah, I'll take my explanation.

Might have considered yours if you were ever right, about anything.

By the way, you didn't bash Skinner in this post. I'm disappointed.

Just realized that C.J. Severyn took Boychuk's number (11) and room at the Dalpe/Boychuk residence while he was gone. Could be awkward
