Wow both Adams are back!!!! How bad is Fayne (I really should know better before asking that) Or is he "resting"/our medical staff just sawed his legs off.

Wow Lou really is being sneaky with Matteau, going to REALLY take his time about whether to send him to the Q or not

No-one really said how bad Fayne is but my thoughts are is "arm injury" is more of a Lou Lams creation than anything medical. Who knows though.

Might as well have Matteau hang out for another week or so with the big club. See if Henrique is back to health or needs another few weeks.. if he's not ready to go, Matteau is a much better option than whatever corpse we call up from Albany.

So is Darche our new Stralman, and expect him to sign a Rangers contract soon?

darche has stayed with the team. IIRC stralman never practiced with us after the season started. Think he went to sweden when we told him to hang out

I think he did practice with us after the season started, but only for a week. I don't think it was like 2 weeks.

I'm not expecting him to become a goal scorer. I want him to be a solid playmaker, excellent defensively, and a beast on the PK. He pretty much is all of those things already.

Watch the play develop through the neutral zone and then tell me that Kovy couldn't have done anything more to prevent it.

Intangibles is one thing, delivering at the most opportune time is another. Zach didn't and Kovy did... the end.
Damn straight.

If you're Lou and want to attempt to sign Clarkson now, what do you offer?

$16 mil for 4?

Clarksons value is going up everyday. Sometimes we get so caught up in the name on the back of the jersey we dont look at the player whos playing in it. Clarkson has become one of the better power forwards. Maybe last year wasnt a fluke but he found that next level.

Clarkson really seems to have improved his skating. He's always been somewhat creative, and can protect the puck with aplomb, but the improve skating sends him into another echelon.

He's averaging 5 shots per game so far.

Clarkson has been excellent. His balance and puck control have drastically improved. He's vital to this team, he's won me over. I'd be prepared to give him 5 years 22.5 million.

Cap hit around $4-$4.5 million is what I'd expect for Clarkson. Probably be on the higher side if he continues to produce the way he has this season.

Hopefully his love of the koolaid and the only franchise to give him a shot will help with a hometown discount. I wonder if he or Nathan Horton will draw more attention if they both hit the market. I wouldn't mind taking a run at Horton either, as long as he proves healthy. I also think him and Deboer have a good relationship.

Personally I'd prefer a shorter rather than a longer contract for Clarkson. Much as I love him, he strikes me as a player who could fall into a steep decline. And I say that as someone who has been one of his biggest supporters since he first made the NHL.

I'd like to keep any contract in the 4 years, $16M range if we can.

what has been seen cannot be unseen.

5m is a little bit too much for him IMO, but anything less than what Hartnell gets is fine by me. He deserves it.

I agree 100%. Lou needs to be careful with the amount of long contracts. Save the next 5+ year deal for Henrique.

Anything under $5 or $5 on the dot is okay with me. He'll get crazy offers from other teams.

He plays in front of the net and along the boards, I don't see how he would fall into a steep decline. Speed or his shot aren't his game. As long as he keeps parking his body in front of the net he's going to score

I won't go anything over 4 million. I do overvalue productive players who also fight. Even if he loses produciton he still will be 30+ pts figher. I sure hope Lou goes after Perry. Even though he is a RW - I could see a nice 1-2 punch of Zajac - Kovy, and Henrique - Perry.

I think it's safe to say Clarkie is one guy who would give us a hometown discount. If he goes to Toronto, it's partially for the large amount of cash they will throw him.
