Did Hjalmarsson almost deflect that in to our net?

Hawks are lucky to be ahead here. No doubt about it. Wild had 15 shots on goal. Hawks 7.

2-1 after 1. Fun first period of hockey. Wish they wouldn't have scored a minute and a half into the game.

I got stuck with Crawford on my fantasy team...I'm not completely upset about it right now.

PK and CC continue to come up huge.

I like our third line. They cycle the puck pretty good. Remember last year when Bickell and Stalberg were in a huge slump and Q put then on the same line and we all laughed. I think they scored a goal a piece that game and Stalberg had the game winner. Bickell has made 3 great passes this year for goals and now he's driving the net. Wow!

IMO Shaw at least always brings the energy. Bickell seems to just not show up. But they can be a dangerous combo at times. And at other times they can be fairly useless.

Shaw truthfully hasn't brought the energy he did last year

Yeah he has, he just has a lot more responsibility at center, it was just more noticeable when he could float around on the wing. He hasn't taken a shift off, it's just that he's not a great centerman.

Kruger/Hammer/Oduya = props for that 5-on-3. Crawford with some excellent saves.

You are confusing energy with results.

He is always skating hard, attempting to throw hits, aggressively forechecking.

But his scoring last year was unsustainable. He scores dirty goals, certainly had a couple lucky goals off the skate last year as well.

Most of this year he has fallen down or floated around , Thrown pointless hits that take him out of defensive coverage and his forecheck has resulted in tons of turnovers

Shaw has been very brutal all year

Shaw has been far from brutal. He's been snakebitten.

the thing about a line with bickell and stalberg is that they are both big and hard to beat on the boards (not to mention stalberg's speed). with a real center between them they become a tough line to play against. if Shaw can become a competent C, that line will grind with the best of them

The Wild forecheck and pressure the offensive zone hard. Good outlet passes mean a solid amount of chances.

I'm not doubting his motor, just his results. I was one of his biggest detractors last year during his scoring streak. But he was certainly bringing a more physical game on the wing. Playing center is a plausible excuse for why he's been so subdued, I'm just giving my eye based opinion.

IMO you are off. Very brutal is overstating it. He still plays with a lot of energy but a lot of time it is useless energy. Not very productive but what do people expect. He should be a 4th liner but whatever...

I'd need to see a replay but I'd say that was Hammer's guy.
