What would you trade Mike Cammalleri for?

This is just hypothetical. If we were to move Cammalleri in the offseason what do you think the Flames could get?

A late 1st, given what Bouwmeester returned with another year with lots of money left. I'd rather keep Cammy and trade one of Tanguay or Hudler.

I disagree with the last part actually. Id rather deal cammalerri and keep tanguay and hudler. Tanguay and hudler are two solid guys who should be good at mentoring the young guns and I think don't mind as much playing on a rebuilding team. Cammalerri on the other hand, I love him, but he is a ultra competive guy and he just doesn't strike me as someone who will want to play through a rebuild. I could see him asking to be moved in the offseason.

Something around a late 1st and lower prospect or a 2nd and a pretty good prospect.

I'd rather move Tangs, but I would expect jbo type of return.

Well, I think it's pretty much inevitable that Cammy is dealt between the draft and next years trade deadline. (contract ending, looking for a new contract, etc.) Assumption of course, but I think it's safe.

I think a late 1st would do it for sure. I could see him getting a 1st and prospects (like Iggy/Jay) at the TD.

for Cammy I'd just expect a mid to late first straight up

I'd rather keep him until the deadline next year. Someone to keep the top defensive units off of some of the young guys, and he demands the best from his teammates. Hell, he got traded from Montreal because he called them a bunch of quitters. I love that. If he wants to stick around, I'm okay with that at the right price tag.

Feaster will do it for a first and 2 obscure prospects. I like having a few vets like him, Tanguay and Glencross around to take some of the pressure away from the young guys but I wouldn't be sad to see him traded.

I too would rather see Tanguay dealt. We have guys who can move the puck on the wing, I'd rather keep Cammalleri.

depends when he gets traded.

Cammalleri at next years deadline could potentially return a bigger return than Iginla or Bouwmeester since he doesn't have a NMC that will severely limit the Flames options.

I'd rather keep him. If we deal him at the draft, I'd do it for a high second, a late-rounder this year or next, and a Cundari-type prospect.

I'd trade him for either a first round pick or top tier defensive prospect, however, I think to maximize any deal with cammy, have to absorb 3 million of his cap.

No way any team picks him up in the offseason then really.
6 Million is a ton of cash; 5 teams in the NHL can't even fit that under their cap straight up. Blues bit the bullet with the Bouwmeester trade, however, they also gave mid tier talent back because of it.

I don't see a team willing to move their first pick this year for Cammy, especially if Calgary's unwilling to eat some cap. He's a good player, but his hit's pretty high for what you're getting.

To be honest, Tanguay might be the guy more people will come around looking at. Teams like the Devils (in my opinion, the best fit for Tanguay) always have cap problems, and at 3.5 for 3 more years, he's very cap friendly for the tight teams.

Tanguay's NTC is a bit of a problem though. I don't think he wants to move.

pretty obvious teams wont bite on him for 6 mil, just being realistic with our ownership. we should trade him away near the deadline.

With the way this team utilizes youth, I want a late lottery protected first and three unknown best players not in the NHL…

It's a modified NTC; If I remember when he signed it... it's a 10 team clause. I'm certain 1/3 of the league could find a great deal for him.

it would make him more valuable if we could eat some of his salary as well

I dunno what to think about Cammy. When I see him running his mouth about the lockout I think he is a flake and I want him gone. When I see him picking a puck out of the net so he can give it to a guy who just scored his first NHL goal I think he is captain material. Also, when he told the ref to wait on dropping the puck after Iggy scored his last goal was pure class.

Offer him an extension and if he takes it make him captain. If he doesn't take it, trade him at the deadline. But either way, no more playing him at center.

But someone has to go. Glencross, Tanguay, Cammalleri all LW. And Baertschi too. I agree with the people who want Tanguay shopped instead.

He did sign that thinking this team was going to be something though. He might not want to stick around now, wouldn't be surprised if he asks/tells Feaster he is willing or wanting to leave.
